The guide uses "SysNAND-old.bin" for the oldest backup made before the update. If you want to know for sure, the creation date in the properties usually corresponds to the time you moved it to your PC (mod date's fucked though).

Depends on how you define recoverable. Simply trying with a variety of SD card readers (some are more resilient than others) and a tool like ddrescue on Linux might get you the majority of the data off of it. But being able to use it again? Probably zero.

If it's a MicroSD card in an adapter, make sure it fits properly first though.
