That's probably the only way anyone can stand to play this league. It was good in theory but execution was poor. It's just not fun having to backtrack to act 1-3 for meaningless garbage or literally pay to avoid it.

What went wrong?
I had a full friends list in perandus and people played nonstop.
Somehow in prophecy everyone lost interest rapidly but no one can really pinpoint as to why

Perandus was the league for shitters/people who can't make money to do everything they wanted to do. So they kept playing.

you need to go out of your way to experience the league mechanics but it's not even worth the time

People are still playing Prophecy? There will always be people playing the game, they just played Perandus more. I don't understand how your question furthers the conversation here.

You know there's more to a league than the league mechanic itself? Perandus came with Ascendancy, that's huge. I disliked Perandus, but I played it a lot, on the other hand I find Prophecy slightly better, but the there's no extra content and the grind has become worse.

Game has never run better for me, no freezes/lockups, tiny load times and no box stutter at all.
