Hold spacebar and right click and aim in the general direction of the enemy. Occassionally press E when bullets come in your direction.

When you have ult press q and change over to holding LEFT click and spacebar (very advanced for most genji players) then teamkill the enemy team.

This right here is one of the most annoying (but fair...ish) things in the game, alongside:
>Hanzo scatter shot and arrow hitboxes
>Mercy's insane ult charge rate
>Roadhog hooking you through the floor
>Widowmaker's assault rifle DPS and super thin hitbox
>Junkrat's ability to detonate his mine instantly turning it into a ridiculous instagib CQC move
>Junkrat's death nades
>Junkrat generally as an entire hero

you shouldnt use very bright colors, and yeah dot is the best xhair., I use it myself, used to be cyan/light blue, but now im toying with red. I used to believe that it makes your eye less focused, but I need to test it by myself.

with bright colors you tend to lose your crosshair sometimes when tracking/aiming very fast
