I hope it can't backwards compatibility limits the leaps you can take forward. It's better that they release a remaster and discount it heavily for people who owned the Wii U version

Well the Wii U is backwards compatible, just by using the old Wii controller. The NX wouldn't need to work the same as the Wii U in order to be compatible.

not that dude, but the devs seem to actually care about the game so i doubt they'd put out a sequel if it wasn't necessary. so, perhaps when the interest has died down or the game is incompatible with the new system, then you could start expecting a sequel/remake
