Start over with Mod Organizer.
Your mesh at the card is purple because SMIM overwrote the meshes in your game, disabling it leaves it without proper references for the Texture. Mod Organizer doesn't have these kind of Issues.
Webm related its REALLY easy, you have to go slow tho. You only have a few polygons to work with, so be careful to not create new edges. But this NEEDS to be done everytime you create a character.

I'm always playing with it, that's kind of what it's built for. But the default settings are designed to be more than tolerable by default.
If there's something in particular you want changed it's probably an easy edit. But maybe it's just not for you.
