I think, now that you've reset, you don't need to backtrack anymore. Just play through normally (befriending Papyrus and Undyne) and you should get a new event around the Core.

I hope in the next iteration of Animal Crossing, Nintendo allows us even more options for customization. Like, more terrain features, maybe climate control (choose how long the seasons last), bridge and pond placement, what kinds of villagers it attracts (is it a quiet retreat full of rich snobs or a poor village in the sticks), that sort of thing.

And maybe a villager or two that we can totally customize, choose their headshape, assign them a species, draw their face, choose their personality, give a handful of custom catch phrases and questions, and allow us to trade them with people.
