Birtboos thought they'd just call ever Curry flavor chink Indian and call this corner of the world India and say it's their rightful clay without realizing that some of those Mongols were in fact not """"Indian"""" in any shape or form and then shit happened

You mean Assam? I would guess it's because most of the population isn't Muslim, so it didn't get included in Pakistan in 1947. If you think it looks bad, the logistics of getting there is even worse.

It's crazy how more people live in Bangladesh than all of Russia.

How do they do it?

By not living in Russia.

India is an artificially created country from people of different nations that have a history of hating and killing each other.
Some of them didn't join the India structure, like Pakistan and the others you are pointing out in your map.

I don't think its very strange, its similar to Switzerland or Liechtenstein not being part of Germany, for example.

Floodplains are a helluva drug. Rice, man.

Bengalis are a very laid back people. It's a shame that even they can't seem to avoid the Wahhabist cancer the Saudis are exporting to all of the mosques of the world as of late.

Houses don't have toilets, which saves space.

>clusterfuck
how is this a clusterfuck exactly? they were non muslim parts of british india.

>very fertile land having multiple crops all year round.
>tfw all the bengali bhadralok culture is dying in front of your eyes
>you learned to appreciate it too late.

tbf, Liechtenstein and Switzerland are quite strange

Muslims self-balkanized and split off from the other muslim entity of pakistan

>it happened in a vaccum.

Pakistan is awful enough to make Bangladesh exit. let that sink in.

it wasn't awful when the bangladeshis started their agitation

But it was two utterly separate cultures separated by more than 2,000 kilometers

India should just take Bangladesh and be done with it

t. Saif

but the country as a whole was doing Ok, like many post colonial states that were propped up by uncle sam. In 1965, the pakistanis shat their economy up pretty badly, and left the entirety of bangladesh undefended during the war. Bengali protests began to ramp up after that.

why?
during the 50s and early 60s, pakistan was doing pretty fucking good by leveraging american economic aid, while india was doing autistic socialism.

bulldoze it and make a parking lot

>bhadralok culture
tell us more user

I don't think there's a period in Pakistani history that really qualifies as good, even by the standards of the average country on earth.

India became independent, split between a Muslim and Hindu part, the Muslim part has an enclave in India due to the kingdom on Bengal successfully converting a part of India, but the enclave is ethnically to different and geographically distant to want to be part of the country. They start an uprising, get genocided a bit but eventually gain independence.

>bengalis have a pretty good tradition of traditional education because of the presence of a few brahmin families and later muslim nawabs.
>because it is the edge of india, a lot of the caste and religion dynamics that people tend to apply to the heartlands don't apply there.
>a primary system of basic mathematics and tradition morality flourishes for hundreds of years.
>after the british enter, bengalis start to become westernized quickly. The brits find it funny and need clerks so they let them do that.
>bengalis begin to study about the european enlightenment and are inspired by it and begin to do grass roots level social reform
>as a result of being the capital of the raj, an anglo-bengali culture flourishes in the capital.
>bengalis are among the foremost indians who begin to pester the british for social change.
The person who actually travelled to britain on the BEIC's dime was a bengali brahmin who studied sanskrit, persian and english and contested the traditional held view that sati was an integral part of hindu religion. The only reason the BEIC was able to ban it because they proved to the british parliament that it was a different opinion between two sects of hinduism.

>while this is going on, the bengali middle class is expanding and taking on more western ideas at the same time. Using western methods of education they begin to start the nascent parts of nationalism.

It was basically something like what happened in japan. The middle class modernized extremely fast and there was rapid social progress there, as evidenced by the flowering of literature in that era as bengalis began taking to reading and writing more. Some of the best examples of bengali culture, whether they be music or poetry began to grow from this era.

It was in many ways a meeting between the east and the west.

And now all that is going away, like tears in the rain.

The liveable parts of Russia put together would probably be a somewhat small country

believe it or not, early pakistan was doing pretty alright and had high industrial growth during the 50s. Everyone expected India to fail and pakistan to thrive because they had the glue of religion holding them together while india was seen as a chaotic non country that was always going to fall apart.

DESIGNATED MUSLIM ENCLAVE

>no one wants to discuss about this

>Brits conquer India
>world wars happen
>"fuck this empire thing m8s"
>decide not to leave muslims and hindus in the same country, creating Pakistan and India
>they hate each other
>Bangladesh is part of Pakistan, but breaks away with Indian help

With difficulty. I've been there, its just madness. My hotel room was literally heaven on earth.

why would you go there?
you forgot
>pakistan goes full nazi on over half their population
