Soft cap is +8% hit, this is when your yellow attacks (sinister strike / backstab) will never miss a raidboss.
After you hit this soft cap +1% crit will be better for dps than +1% hit. Hence why it is stupid to use a 2% hit trinket when you have a 2% crit trinket available.
