What are your thoughts on Noam Chomsky?

A better linguist than political thinker.

>Noam "Khmer Rouge dindunuffin" Chomsky
>Noam "What Cambodian genocide??" Chomsky
>Noam "At least Pol Pot wasn't American" Chomsky
>Noam "Smashing baby skulls against trees is still preferable to imperialism" Chomsky
>Noam "I may have been wrong but based on the evidence I was right" Chomsky
>Noam "Khmer Rouge Don't Bruise" Chomsky

elaborate

The only people who hate him are capital-cucks and hate the white race.

t. sir "nothing's supreme but edgy memes" wrongalot

i fucking hate his silly hair

White guilt ridden masochist.

>our generation
wat
this guy is older than baby boomers

He's still thinking in terms of trees, not rhizomes. Everything is related to everything, man. Get on my level, and let the sunbeams up your ass. You can't stop desire in language, it will break free and make you Animal.

>meme philosophers
Chomsky is one of the original "meme" philosophers. Holy fuck, did you never go to college? The old line about vegans applies just as much to Chomsky-devotees: "Q: How do you know if someone is a Chomskyite? A: Don't worry, they'll fucking tell you."

They can't shut the fuck up about the guy, no matter what criticism you apply.

And I genuinely admire Chomsky. He has a knack for asking good questions. He sometimes just comes up with retarded answers. He's also so fundamentally American in his way of thinking. Hell, after his debate with Foucault I think he'd earned himself a chapter in The Metaphysical Club.

Liked him for a while but then I heard him outright lie about my country to gain political points with the Americans he was speaking with, something I previously thought only conservatives did.

What country?

His thoughts on Michael Moore are essentially that even though much of his films are inaccurate over-generalizations at best, and fat-out lies at worst, but doesn't have a problem with the guy because they're both on the same team.

>youtube.com/watch?v=wtm-JmnSK_E

He's almost the Michael Moore for professional stupid people. The only difference being that even though both are usually wrong about history and the present issues of the day, Chomsky doesn't knowingly lie to his audience.

>What are your thoughts on Noam Chomsky?

Never trust a man who can't admit when he was wrong. To this date, Chimpsky still hasn't retracted his glowing endorsement of the Khmer Rouge. This is really all you need to know about him.

>glowing endorsement[citation needed]

>ITT blue collar rednecks who can shitpost 5 hours on /pol/ tell one of the most cited academic on earth to stfu

Ad hominems aside it is very ironic that on one hand people accuse liberals for being elitist on the other hand they spout "do what you do, leave politics to those elites who know it" elitism on people they don't like.

>whines about being called elitist
>calls people who disagree blue collar rednecks
Nice going there bucko

Zizek is Chomsky without the Americentrism and Progressive bullshit.

>Chomsky
>Americentric
[Citation needed]

He is though. He explains the world from a very American point of view.

He's "americentric" in the sense that all problems are caused by America

Yup, it's playing to Americans beliefs that the US is more important in world affairs than it actually is, when it's a multitude of different countries that have contributed to the current order.

Chomsky exemplifies anaemic ethics. He is a good egg and wants to make the world a better place and I have no doubt he would be incorruptible if he had authority and I will be sad when he dies, but he is utterly incompetent when it comes to eliminating crime and corruption in others. Some of his policies might make things difficult for le evil corporations, but I suspect things would start to look like Venezuela soon and he would be ousted by some strongman demagogue who represents the side of socialism he dislikes, he would let Islamists walk all over him, the cold war would still be going on if we followed his advice. Too naive and trusting, he would lose his 87 year old anal virginity.

>"blue collar" is considered an insult by lefties

wew

My first thought about him is:

>"Why does he have a shitstain on his cheek?"

le staw mang

Can I save this meme for my college class on misogynistic internet cultures?
Please respond

go ahead, its all yours :)

Thank you Anonymous No.1471982

He's the most influential linguist of the 20th century, if not of all time. He created transformational grammar and a lot of other stuff. I'm pretty sure that every major innovation in linguistics for the past 60 years was either directly due to Chomsky, or in reaction to something Chomsky did.

I like when he went on firing Line and went full "COMMUNIST DINDU NUFFIN" By actually claiming communist never tried to invade another country before WW2

>His thoughts on Michael Moore are essentially that even though much of his films are inaccurate over-generalizations at best, and fat-out lies at worst, but doesn't have a problem with the guy because they're both on the same team.

That is LITERALLY the core of neo-cons

Great linguist. Terrible philosophy.

Upvoted.

he is a meme and a scumbag

youtube.com/watch?v=idy8m5V8uLI

every fucking retard name drops him to appear intelligent.

His response to behaviorism was pretty good.

>"tales of holocaust in Cambodia are so much propaganda."
chomsky.info/19770625/

his philosophy isn't terrible. it's too idealistic. it's a moral absolutist.

...

but remember, they are "le socialist fighters for the workers xD!"

and blue collar people who dont vote for them are "voting against their own interest"

You mean how alt-rightards call anyone who they think is acting against their self interest a cuck?

People happen to be assholes who think they're entitled to the livelihood of others because they have the """right""" opinion. Just overheard two of the hickest motherfuckers shit-talking in a park about phone use making people zombies. These geniuses thought we should all strictly use landlines; because cellular networks can just be "turned off" and somehow landlines can't. Fuck off with your shilling. Everyone does this.

what are you even spewing about senpai

>Noam (((Chomsky)))
Do you wish me to explain more?

>By actually claiming communist never tried to invade another country before WW2
S-seriously? I didn't think he was that bad..

He utterly pwned Stefan Molyneux.

Opposite, actually

>not realizing Pol Pot was a US agent supported to fuck over Vietnam and the USSR

That's not a glowing recommendation...

You mean French agent.
