Sometimes I miss the fun times I had with the game before heavensward came out and ruined everything. Well much before that, the game was turning into a joke well before that, but still.
Then come to the Veeky Forums thread and I am quickly reminded by the community that was one of the largest reasons for me and my friends to quit this game.

1.23 was in a good direction, and then suddenly changed direction for 2.0. Of course he went with the WoW route and ruined this MMO in the long run. It alienated most of their players back in 1.x too. (People who likely played FFXI, and people who are used to 1.x itself or horizontal MMOs)

The WoW route was never successful, and it ruined the genre. Even WoW is in shambles right now.
This game won't survive when 4.0 hits.
