400dpi isn't "Objectivly worse"
The steps even at 400 dpi are so small that you generally don't notice them. Further, any loss of articulation you get from the steps of the mouse being larger is INSTANTLY cancled out by CSGO's insane weapon spread. Even crouching with an awp or SG, the weapon spread is going to be multitudes larger then the steps of your mouse.
Also, high DPI has a lot more noise that isn't needed. A warn or multicolor mousepad may affect tracking slightly on high DPI, but that's well within margin of error on 400-800 dpi and you won't experience any issues. Also when you're just resting your hand on your mouse at 3200+ dpi your crosshair moves a little, which can be distracting when holding angles. 400-800 won't show that slight, worthless movement.

Used 16:10 for a while, it wasn't bad. I had 1280x1024 on no scaling on a 1920x1080 monitor. So their were little black bars on the top and bottom as well.
