1.5x multiplier doesn't affect damage, it's only for determining what you can equip. If you want max damage, aim for 99 Str.

Why does everyone say faith is less viable in pvp than anything else? Talisman hyperarmor lets you tank hits and lightning nuke their face, plus you can follow up the staggering effect of that spell with a few swings from a suitably infused weapon.
