The update doesn't happen till november, and we still have no idea if it's going to add anything substantial to the game.

I don't even have an amiibo reader, so I can't make use of the update.
I'm hoping they flood the game with new items and dialog trees, but they probably won't.

I'm on a bug hunting apocalypse. I just need ants/fly, snail, and a fucking tiger beetle which is inexplicably absent.
Only thing holding me back is the lack of rain and spoiled food.

God damn, this right here. This game is about RNG, so I don't know why they'd suddenly make it possible for you to pick and choose who moves into your town so easily.

But I can't realistically think of another use for amiibos and cards in the game... Does anyone else have any ideas?

Make the villager in the card visit the campsite instead of making them automatically move into your town

You already saw the screenshots.
Their house plops in your town.
Either they're going to expand the villager limit or make one of your villagers leave.
I really doubt that wisp would tell you to fuck off because your town is full, seeing how 99% of player's towns would be full at any given time.

Even that feels a bit cheat-y to me... Takes quite a lot of the RNG out of it all.

Let me check the activity log, but ballpark answer is 1-2 weeks. It's nothing huge (I don't think) but last time I actually played played is probably close to a mobth.
