It's not. You just need to use your nail and apply a bit of upward force in the niche on either side, and give the screw one more slight twist. As for your MH save, you could manage that with homebrew. I'm recommending right now not to update to 11.0.

Well I guess what I'm saying is do NOT update to 11.0 if you think you'd be interested in hacking. My favorite benefit is just being able to manage my save files. Since 3DS transferring does update you to 11.0, you'd need to hack everything beforehand to do a safe transfer. Or if you really don't care about any of this, forget I said anything.
