Just got word that I got a welding job I applied for. It's short term (2 weeks), but if I do well I can apply for a full time. This'll give me more money for the 240Z.
The body looks pretty nice but 2 things: 1. If you're in California i'd try to get a 75 280z so you are smog exempt and 2. I bought my 4 speed 280z with 120k on the trans and only 3 months after buying the car the trans completely killed itself. I think it was for the best though because after I got a rebuilt 5 speed in it the driving experience went through the roof. So if you're going to jump on that car make sure you have some money put away for it.

ayy lmao
I'm not gonna promise anything but I will try to bring back any cool parts I can find

to any of the guys who did the EZ wiring swap how did you wire up the "ALT POWER" and "ALT EXCITE" wires?
my car is startin and runnin but the alternator suddenly decided not to charge the battery
I do have the fusible links to maxi-fuse block upgrade, and kept the original alternator stuff on, so not quite sure why it's not getting power to charge
Hunter Campbell
first of all, what vehicle are we talkin' about here?
Because if we're talking a 240Z with the external ballast style alternator, you could have a dead ballast.
But wiring it is pretty straightforward, it shouldn't even depend on the wiring harness.

78 280z internally regulated. I'm gonna take it off and bring it to a shop to get tested

that should at least get you an idea of what's going on, that's for sure. Don't let em rape you on the price to check out the alternator though.

So this is the completed route the Peking to Paris 240Z will be taking.
shit alternator is still good apparently.. I don't understand because it doesn't put out any voltage at all, running on my battery and it's misfiring
Jaxon Young
Double check your wiring dude, there's gotta be something wrong somewhere.

Oh damn.
I have the option to be employed as a welder full time, with full benefits, working a swing shift. But I'd have to drop my evening classes, and take the much slower morning classes.
