I want to do the browserhax but I want to know if I should use the SD card I already use with my 3DS or a new one without anything on it.

This will be my first time trying to hack it.

Noticed too late that previous thread reached bump limit, so Im reposting it here.

Just hoping that maybe I will run into somebody, who will reply:

1) How to properly back up everything (saves, friends list, etc) before system format, adviced at Part 2 of OP guide?

2) Said format is mentioned as "optional" at the start, in explanation part, but not in actual stepps. How does it affect the later procedure, since I assume that it is not taken into account later then?

3) Should I even format it anyway? That part mention that this is obligatory for Ambassador devices or devices with DSiWare. I dont have those, but at the same time, I dont want to risk losing chance by being forced to perform system update in case of soft-brick.

4) CFW after doing Part 3 is said to be launched from Homebrew Launcher. I heard it doesnt always launch. How often it fails to do so?

No, no, not that format. Im talking about:

I did export save data from card with that JK Save Manger homebrew (such useful little program should be avaible for everyone, no matter if they want to install Homebrew Launcher or not). It is just that I dont really want to lose rest, like mentioned Friend List. At the other hand, I have 10.3-28e system - being forced to update that to 11.0 would be a shame.

Would formatting delete installed Launcher too?

I was trying to swap HDDs on my slim Ps3, so what I did was:
-Update rebug using flashdrive
-Remove HDD
-Insert new larger HDD
-Try to format and install rebug off the same flashdrive
And I was greeted with an error.

When I searched online I saw that rebug has issues installing from recovery, but there's a rebug "hdd change utility" available.
So I swapped my larger and newer HDD for my old one.
But I was once again greeted with the "the PS3 could not start, insert flashdrive with 4.80 firmware or later to format".

What's the general procedure to follow here?

It should work. I've done this for ages using Rebug and I never used this HDD change utility option. Unless it's a new thing.

Yes, you have to fiddle with a pc and QCMA a bit. It's impossible to downgrade, however.

Also, I think you have to press and hold the power button for a while so you can enter the boot mode and install it from there. It won't work if you try turning it on without doing that.

Im getting serious error contact support (8002F281) when trying to reinstall system software from flashdrive.

Can you go into boot mode? You can try rebuilding the HDD database there, then installing the update.

I'm on the latest firmware 11.0 and my Luma is 5.4.

I downloaded luma updater so that I can play online MH/Smash but when I clicked "download latest weekly" nothing happened, I'm still on 5.4. Is it because I dont have arm9loader or something?

How easy is it to whitelist Vita TV? When I did 3DS cfw install it took me 5 hours because information was so mixed and the exploit was prone to failure/freezing. Am I in for more BS, or will this be relatively simple?

I'm trying to do the 2.1.0 downgrade but when I try to inject FBI_inject_with_banner.app it ends up failing and saying "hs.enc has wrong size". I've tried using the latest version or Decrypt9 and the one from May 5th. Also I only see one Decrypt9 icon.

Even the newest monster hunter gen N3DSes are still 10.6 (at least mine was)

It's fairly simple.

You have to copy the app.db file to PC. Paste some code into an SQL browser and click play, then it's patched, you can copy app.db back to your Vita TV.

I bought a PS2, came with net adapter, an empty memory card, controller, and power cord.
I bought a component cable, and a memory card with FMCB loaded on it as well.
I am trying to go into Free MCBoot and it simply isn't working. I don't believe I got scammed because my PS2 doesn't even read that card, unlike the blank one.
I don't have the network adapter or an HDD inside, its just open on the back.

Am I doing something wrong? I thought all you had to do was put the freemcboot card inside and it will launch. I don't think I can install FMCB onto the other card myself because I don't have a copy of agent under fire.

Sounds like the memory card is just borked, yeah.

You can forego the hole MEMEry card step and flash a pre-made image to the drive that'll update the firmware the PS2 recognizes from the original HDD install disc and use FHDB immediately with no further setup.
