>Can the game be considered a full release? No, for all intents and purposes, KSP should be considered still in early access state. The game is nowhere near being able to stand on its own legs both from a gameplay perspective (career mode is definitely not ready and balanced) and a stability perspective. There are still major bugs and memory leaks that shouldn't exist on a finished game.
>Are there big issues with the game? Bugs and instability are still real and frequent problems, as with every product still in beta. Ask in thread for details.
>What are the devs doing? Modified versions of popular mods are being included in the stock game while the game engine is being upgraded to its latest version. The most recent update (1.1) was supposedly going to bring a complete overhaul of the GUI, be 64bit friendly, have a refined physics/heating/aero model and generally perform better. While achieving some of these goals, the game is now more unstable than ever, with many users being unable to use the game at all. An external team with heavily questionable experience (Flying Tiger Entertainment) is being tasked with porting the game to PS4, XboxOne and Wii U, with a release deadline that seems to keep slipping.
>Should I buy the game? KSP is very enjoyable at first, then it usually needs to be modded to retain some sort of longevity, but doing so may dramatically increase the instability of the game. You will be very familiar with the word "Oops!". The Developers, Squad, have shown many times that they can't handle the project and are trying to squeeze all the money they can with the least amount of effort and with controversial PR tactics. The general consensus at /kspg/ is that you should torrent the game, not because the game itself is unplayable, but because most of us agree that Squad does not deserve your money.
BARIS, Orbiter, Space Engine, OpenTTD, Take On Mars, Project CARS, ULA posting, Aurora, TRUMP 2016, and planes are also welcome ITT.

Forgot about that. Agree. Let's let this thread be a forum to express opinions on the change. If no meaningful* dissent appears, hopefully the new OP will implement the changes.

So, who's this angry user guy (girl?) anyway?
Landon White
Most of us regulars are pretty open about our contributions to conversation, and then there's Angry user.
He's the one trying to do everything he can to seem like multiple people, spread an atmosphere of hatred, and "loosen the shitposters grip on this general", to quote him. He singles out individuals and tries to discourage them from posting. And other suspicious shit I can't talk about happens. If you catch my drift.
Every day we learn more about him. I think he's Sal_Vayger

Friendly reminder that until MAN proves Squad broke the EULA he accepted at purchase, all of his comments are void and should definitely be ignored. Unless you want him to kill the general again, that is.

>Angry user is literally hitler! He's working for SQUAD and he's trying to push the regular userbase out of the general! It's the ANGRY user's reason I'm not popular!
Meanwhile in reality
>Angry user even qualifies proposed changes to the OP ("something along the lines of", "possibly...") which are entirely benign in order to avoid controversy, and more critical of SQUAD than the original wording.

Hi Angry user, why are you even bringing it up?

>because it is a meaningless metric On the upper bound, not the lower. The lower the number of IPs, the lower the odds are that it's a single person using multiple devices.
On the other hand, multiple new IPs in short succession agreeing with the same post would be evidence of someone using multiple devices.

You really shouldn't have told him that. He's going to try spamming pro-Angry responses from a bunch of devices now to make it look like Angie-amon is samefagging hard.
Now go ahead. Point to the part where it says "We promise to use your pre-order money to the best of our ability" :^) Find the part where it qualifies "This software is provided as-is" with "But we're going to keep updating it"
Luke Walker
No, seriously. /r/ing all information about this paradigm.
In 2013, Maxmaps took the wheel, pretending to be a marketer / CM / dev to the fanbase, when in reality he was placed in charge of making sure the final product did not scale beyond the $5mil of our money Adrian and Ezequiel were actually allowing to be spent on the development of KSP.
So, with the cancelling of resources and DLCgate, we saw the future drastically narrow down to a point. This shift was embodied by Maxmaps' continually repeated statement that "sandbox is scope complete." What did he mean by this?
What is important is that in this moment a paradigm was created. A paradigm that suggested "sandbox" was a complete iteration of the game and therefore a major milestone. When in fact it was an arbitrary and artificial line in the sand designed to limit expenditure so that the majority of the invested money could be fraudulently embezzled.
By "moving on" to career mode, they created a false equivalency suggesting career and sandbox were two facets of an overall thing. When they failed to deliver career in a timely manner, science mode was added. Another one of Max's failed promises leading to a compromised feature in the game.
After resourcegate and the declaration that Sandbox was "scope complete," we saw all development begin to pace itself based on business deals rather than development capacity. Every update after this took 6 months, and failures to move the NASA deal along quickly enough led to completely mutilating .23 through .24, which would have been fantastic updates chock full of content if half the content didn’t need to be removed to satisfy an NDA.
And then of course, begins the true Max regime of .25 on.
Ending the false paradigm means returning to the mindset of 2013, reopening Sandbox’s scope, and, if the fanbase cares enough, scrapping and redoing career.
Brody Hall
>But we're going to keep updating it" Let me be more rigid: "We're going to keep updating it until it meets all possible aspirations of the community" There is a rather obvious part that makes reference to providing support, but only within the context of "and that's under this agreement too"
Cameron Miller
Considering MAN came here 2 years ago, I doubt he bought it in 2012, probably one of the Steam billies
Anthony Butler
If you weren't a retard, "False Paradigm" would actually be a valuable phrase to describe career.
Unfortunately for everyone, you are, and you pile it into "The path of splitness" tier screeds.
What did lions teach our ancestors? How to be dominant: sour and cruel. How to attack using the advantage of night and surprise. How to attack at night using stealth. How to hide, how to use camouflage to hide. How to kill by using deception, cunning and cowardice. How being more savage, more brutal, more cruel, more full of hate, more violent, more bloodthirsty, more warlike, more combative, more unhappy, more miserable: is worth a few fleeting years of territorial and social dominance as King of beasts. How to be as beastly as possible. All kings are beasts: they are not humans. They act like beasts. How to be macho pigs: treating the breadwinners and workers: their own females as badly as possible. How to be as glutinous and as greedy as possible. How to always claim the lion’s share even though they do not earn it. How to be as selfish as possible: fighting off other predators from a carcass. Even though you can’t eat all of it. Refusing to let others eat while you gorge yourself. How to rule the mass by terror. How to single out and pull down any herd animal that shows signs of not fearing them. How to keep blood feuds going for thousands of years between prides and clans and species of your own class. How to hate. How to keep grudges. How to preserve and perpetuate hate. How to instill and create fear. How to perpetuate and preserve the fear of the masses. How to control and subjugate masses of animals by making sure they are kept as stupid and as ignorant as possible.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/People's_Mujahedin_of_Iran >The European Union, Canada and the United States formerly listed the MEK as a terrorist organization, but this designation has since been lifted, first by the Council of the European Union in January 26, 2009 (following what the group called a "seven-year-long legal and political battle"),[13][14][15] then by a decision by U.S. Secretary of State *Hillary Clinton*[10] on September 21, 2012 and lastly by a decision by the Canadian government on December 20, 2012.[16] >In January 2009 the Council of the European Union removed the terrorist designation. This followed the 2008 Court of Justice of the European Union in Luxembourg censure of France for failing to disclose alleged new evidence of MEK's terrorist threat.[13] Delisting allowed MEK to pursue tens of millions of dollars of frozen assets[15] and lobby in Europe for more funds. It also removed the terrorist label from MEK members at their Iraqi Camp Ashraf.[14] >On September 28, 2012 The U.S. State Department formally removed MEK from its official list of terrorist organizations, beating an October 1 deadline in a MEK lawsuit.[10][112] Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said in a statement the decision was made because MEK had """""renounced violence""""" and had cooperated in closing their Iraqi paramilitary base. An official denied that lobbying by well-known figures influenced the decision to remove the designation.[113][114]

Hint: if you want a nice and steady income without having to loan all the money, go for fishing, it is one of the highest paying industry in the game and ships are relatively cheap to maintain compared to trains or even trucks
Liam Torres
>tfw no planetary consciousness to join minds with
Hudson Smith
Okay. So am I missing something here? It seems that the fishing ground isn't producing? I've fast forwarded several months like this and nothing happened.
Joshua Turner
I'm not familiar with that mod, but I don't think that's a boat for fish
Michael Green
It's the standard cargo ship. Says "All but passengers, alcohol, chemicals, and milk."
Daniel Cook
Never mind, I'm just stupid. Didn't realize I had to refit the ship to carry a certain cargo.
On another note, while looking through some addons I guess I noticed that the default look of the game isn't really all that bad. My main gripe is that the GUI is so small on my monitor and the only other option is way too big. Huh...kinda like the ksp 1.1 update.
Michael Reyes
You have to refit the boat for the right cargo. Send it back to the depot, click the refit button that appears on the boat window once it's in the depot, select fish and send it on it's way.
Industries won't produce anything if you don't "prime" them with a vehicle fitted for the right cargo.
Luis Clark
Have you tried the bigUI add-on? I had the same problem and that mod solved it. You can also set it to different dimensions IIRC
Parker Foster
See I figured it out. Felt stupid.
Nolan Foster
I haven't tried that yet, I'll look it up, I also have the resolution set to my screen resolution in settings so that should be fine.
If that fixes the gui I may very well go with the default look, if for no other reason than so things are consistent.
Juan Roberts
Try it with a quick new game and see for yourself, it's better to restart now that you have almost nothing in place yet than having to restart after hours because you can't stand the UI anymore.
that's why I told you to read all the add-on list before starting, once a game has started, you can't add anymore mods
Hudson Hill
Right, tight. I know what you mean. There's a lot of cool stuff too so I've already been restarting several times.
The ui is much more bearable now, still kinda small but I'll just have to adjust, still would like a 1.5 size or something though.
Btw, what year would you recommend starting at? 1950 feels too late for my liking, I also love the look of dirt roads upgrading as time goes by but 1925 leaves almost nothing to start with except boats, not even trains.
Ryder Sanders
Sal_Vager? Based on which clues user?
David Jenkins
I usually start in the late 19th century, there are a few mods with old vehicles, I don't really remember the names, but I got them by perusing the add-on list and reading their description. There are sailboats, horse carriages instead of trucks, steam trains and trams and stuff like that.
Considering how fast the stock game time goes (1day = ~2seconds), the sooner you start and the longer you play. There also seems to be a trend in the addons where a lot of them focus on early stuff and a a few of them focus on future stuff (dozens of vehicles in the early 900s vs a handful of vehicles in the late 2000s), so there is no real point on going too much in the future IMO.
1925 seems a good start for a first time, the stock game is fast enough that it won't take much to get to the 2000s anyway, but make sure to get at least a ship and train addon that has vehicles in that period.
Chase Brooks
false parallelism guise
Luke Miller
Another hint: it's better to use one medium boat and have it pick up fish from more than one place, than use a small boat for each fishing ground. You have to find a good compromise between the time it takes for the ship to complete it's route (the longer the cargo stays in a ship, the less you are paid) and the money you save by having less boats. Unless you make a long ass route with fishing grounds that are hundreds of tiles apart that takes forever to complete, you will generally get more money like this.
Don't set boats to "full load" orders, just have them complete a small circle so that it fills up as it goes.
The "don't set to full load" rule only applies to boats and buses, for train and trucks you should always use full load orders as that maximises your profits. There are special cases where this is not true even for trains, but you are still a long way from those.
Gabriel Torres
Cool. I think I just found said mod. Looks comfy.
I'll keep that in mind.
Isaiah Cox
Yep, that's it. There is also a mod to make train tracks look old too somewhere.
Another hint: don't start dealing with perishables (fruit, dairies, livestock and so on) until you have an already established network with a strong profit unless you want to make your life miserable.
Jaxon Myers
Did you disable inflation?
Joseph Howard
Yup.
I think I've got enough to start to commit to a full game now without adding anything else. However, it's now 5am and I am absolutely exhausted, so it's bedtime.
I'll play when I wake up and post updates if you'd like.
