Have to say this looks great, especially how sensor data changes.

I like autocannons being one solid projectile instead of a burst fire weapon. Looks incredible besides that.

Unless we get the Blood Asp, this is the best there is for that weight slot.

Considering the energy hardpoints are spread out throughout the torsos and arms and only of the torso mounts looks high, and the majority of battlemasters run big fat xls, I wouldn't call it a battlemaster equivalent.

Knowing PGI's improvements in hardpoint placement, they'd probably be right next to the laser seen in this picture.

Don't get me wrong, the kingfisher needs all the help it can get, because I can't help see it as a yet another highlander 2c.

It's an 85 ton assault. Depending on its hardpoint spread and max engine it'll be replacing the Warhawk.

You're right about the stats, but nobody cares about the warhawk. Marauder will be a battlemech so it's hard to not be better than one.

The real question is how does it compare to the premier timber wolf, and it won't do that well.

I for one still see a lot of Warhawks on in MWO. Don't know why, but I do.

Not every Clan mech need be compared to the irritated pussy.

Marauder would be shit without quirks. Same applies to the 2C version. It will have quirks but probably be shit anyway unless they overdo it.

Because Warhawks were always good. They just don't fit some very anal players' playstyles and hard habits.

I can see that the Marauder IIC will probably have zero hardpoint inflation and possibly no quirks whatsoever because as it is it can be better optimized than a Warhawk. Only the bits of quirks that the Warhawk has can put it on a level playing field.

More qwerks for the old gunboat wouldn't be unappreciated either.

yeah, i really don't understand why the warhawk is considered so terrible. same with the orion IIC. nothing about them sticks out to me as being particularly bad.

The Onion IIC has the same problem as the original. Most of it's guns are defeated by small hillocks.

is this image accurate? if so then yeah i suppose those are some pretty wonky hitboxes. can't say i've noticed that they go down more easily than anything else, but i guess i'd just have to try it out for myself.

that's a problem with a lot of mechs though, even some that are considered to be good. seems unfair to single out the IIC for that, especially considering some of the crazy builds it can do.

That's the exhaust port. If you hit it with a Proton LRM, it will destroy it in one volley.

Warhawk has bad hardpoint locations and hitboxes and can't play peekaboo, and has too many built in DHS that throttle build potential.

Orion/IIC are even more terribly shaped with bad hardpoint locations, but at least one of the Orions makes a decent brawler with 4M 1B.

Those hitboxes posted of the Orion don't include the massive left shoulder that house the missiles.
