I have a family member that drives one, it's comfy enough, gets you through decent snow and will take you confidently down most trails/forest roads.

If you are worried about room consider an Outback, roof top storage or roof top tent.

Alternatively just go all out and get a 4runner. That will get you further on the trails, has more room, solid mechanics and a good aftermarket.

It handles more like SUV's designed to go off road when compared to road cars. Top heavier and not at all fun when going round the bends.

The suspension both softer and harsher than dedicated on road vehicles, just a lot less than something like muh wrangler.

It's a decent trade off though because the drawbacks are a good bit smaller than a dedicated off road rig. A lot of dedicated on road SUV's handle worse than the XV.

I actually found it to handle decently on road, you can never expect something this tall to not roll a bit going around corners. I'll definitely take the ground clearance over the standard Impreza which IMO looks goofy as shit and really doesn't handle much better.

Redwoods just north of SF
Sequoia NP

among others.

I live in Colorado I can get all the weed I want.

Sorry for not being more specific it is going split between the Jedidiah Smith campgrounds and the Del Norte Coast Campgrounds which I guess according to my map puts it near Crescent City.

it depends on what you like to do and specifically where you are. A week is just enough to kick it in the redwoods, so I'd stick with that and just relax. The rivers are high but a little cold in june.

In no particular order and in addition to what wrote:

Howland Hill road is a really nice drive (pic related). There is a nice hiking trail about 3/4 of the way to the 199

Stop at Prairie Creek Park and hike down to Fern Canyon if you can manage a 12 mile hike - one of the best I've done.

Drive to Fern Canyon instead if you don't like walking that far and are ok with rough road and stream fording.

Avenue of the Giants is a really good drive, well worth a day trip. The Grieg-French-Bell grove is by far my favorite area - the sorrel there is amazing. It's just south of Pepperwood and is really easy to miss.

Drive the Lost coast road if you are up for it, great sights along there.

Eureka has a decent brewery you can visit - town is a touch rough tho.

Trees of Mystery is overpriced and a tourist trap but if you want the full kitsch tourist experience stop by their gift shop.

Weather will be shit for the Nornornorcal meet. I would not at all recommend driving in the wet and fog on any of the roads we will be going on.

Soaked, flooded patches, slow normies and rocks may make the drive total shit.
