It was self made internet super hype in the same vein as Undertale in November/December. The hype was centered around the supposedly infinite things you can discover in the game.

It was the big "AAA" indie project that was going to be revolutionary for the scene (Rocket League beat it to the punch lel)

It has a procedurally generated galaxy, literally quadrillions of planets, all of with different environments, flora and fauna. The changes you make to each planet are uploaded so other players can see them (not multiplayer though).

I don't think monsters care much about that stuff in general

Not much is known yet but yes there is a survival component. The game apparently starts by crashing your ship on a random planet. You have to gather resources to rebuild it and build weapons and such. The animals can be hostile, and the environment can hurt you without protection. There's also some kind of hostile alien faction which can attack you on the planets or in space.

I find it likely.
