There are quite a few heroes intended to be good at defending in this game, and they're all (Other than junkrat and widow arguably) trash.

Torb is no different. He's intended to be good at defending areas with an automated aimbot turret. But the turret doesnt do shit

Torbjorn,Bastion,and Symmetra are pretty much the "rite of passage" for newer players
they can absolutely fuck up inexperienced ones but that will teach them how to learn map awareness and actual teamwork

torbs only good map on defense is hanamura

and even then its gimmicky

if anyone here takes torb on other maps in comp kill yourself

Torb is useful if he gets some scrap for armor packs rolling and his ult can hold a point on its own but, just like Symmetra, if your team loses the initial skirmish and he loses access to the ideal turret nests he's a total liability to the team.

The problem isn't the pick, it's being unwilling to switch off to a different hero if shit goes bad.

At least Symmetra is still decent. If only because of teleporter and how good she is at defending the first choke of the map.
