SWAT's perks are absolute shit.
It's a Medic with no speed, less armor, less health, worse resistances, no self-healing, and no teammate healing.
It's like a Commando with less damage.
It's like a Berserker with worse tanking.

really it depends how powerful the guns are

If the guns are better than Commando's guns it not only makes no sense how an SMG is stronger than an AR but also would in turn be literally the only thing it has going for it.
Why play SWAT over any other perk? I guess it does a bit more damage than Commando.
And if it doesn't, there's literally 0 point to playing SWAT. It offers nothing new or unique and is objectively bad.

Not particularly.
He stumbles zeds, but so does almost everyone.
He slows zeds, but so will some other perks after their rework.
The flashbang might cause a new reaction to zeds, but if it takes multiple direct hits to affect sc/fp/boss, who gives a shit, it'll be as forgettable as sharp's ice grenades.

To be fair, though, SWAT's gameplay uniquity, hearing about it on paper, seems no worse than how gunslinger sounded before they added it, and gunslinger wound up pretty good.

Honestly this update looks like it will be most useful for the possibility of off-perk weapons. Demo gets a rifle for crowd control that still has the potential to nuke, and the subguns might be light weight enough to be alternatives to gunslinger weapons

Is versus any good?

heat shield is sweet
from a realistic standpoint those sights would be really shitty and fragile, but in gameplay I think they'll be very nice, not obstructing view any more than needed, while giving a nice intuitive aperture

but I'm autistic about guns in video games. I make the models look as close to guns I own or used as possible.
The M4 I use in Insurgency is as close as I could possibly get it to the one I had, including the optic and the damned rack number. Even though no one else sees it.

the gunslinger would do that on headshot, which would instakill most things with most guns, so it only really applies to big zeds

swat has very high rates of fire and fairly low damage, so a spray can slow down an entire horde

I definitely understand the desire, but even more I can understand TWI not caring to put a bunch of customization in, or make the base model have the particular details you wanted.

Swat's tier 1 is so bad i think i could confuse it for parody.

Spawn with armor, make it so you don't take health damage while you have armor, and get immunity from clot grabs.
What should we counter that with?

That would definetly kill its viability straight away.
That and weighing above 6, which we can't rule out because Tripwire.

It may be less beneficial than you think, if it makes the armor take 100% of the damage, instead of health and armor both taking a part of it.
If some of the damage is health, but not too much, medic can heal you and you can draw out your armor's benefit later into the wave.

But if the skill makes there be no HP damage but the same partial armor damage as before, yeah that's op af.

doubt it
mp7 will probably weigh 3 but be worse than medsmg offperk
mp5 will probably weigh 4 and be worse than dualdeags or boomstick offperk
kriss/p90 will probably weigh 5+, where offperks in general usually mean you're skipping onperks that you'd be better off with

Same here, especially for support.

SWAT seems really uninteresting, They could have made him with more interesting perks and passives.

I feel like he would have been best as a buffer, maybe having his own stumble variant that has zeds flailing about as they get hit by a hail of gunfire.

Yoshiro said it'll probably be a post-release thing but they like the idea

Don't get me wrong, it's a cool idea that might be interesting, but I see some people in the forums going "Hey SWAT absolutely NEEDS a riot shield" and I'm like "I literally don't care".
