When money is involved, messing with old units and trying to balance the game is a touchy subject.
You can get a lot of players upset, plus it's better to just put up new units with new art and keep the content rolling.

It's just how mobage go, it's completely not in their interests to buff old units ever.
It's not iterative, if they want to rebalance a unit they'll just make a new one.
Works in our favour sometimes too, like GPU being genuinely broken OP.

Hack and someone else I'm forgetting can replace kid for a self orb, aokiji can captain equally/better than kid in anything you really NEED strikers for.

Special, there's nothing you could take to Duval for example that'd clear trash as well as him

Aokiji captain works fine, but if I wanted to run strikers in general, I'd probaly want to pair him with Vergo/Kid/Barto friend captains rather than doubling.

Of course, the lack of a Doffy special equivalent and a ship on Global really makes that not very appealing compared to slashers.

His low cd multi target special is about as common as dirt, though his is REALLY low cd.

Could I take on Duval with double G3. I would watch the video guide but I'm on limited data atm.

You'll probably be fine with that team, but I'd replace MC Hopper with Kidd and maybe Jozu with Doffy if you have his CD low enough.

He'd probably be one of the best RR units if strikers had as much easy to farm synergy as slashers do. As is, he's well above average.

He's obviously by no means necessary, but very very good.

I think he's held back by Strength already being just a fucking insane type, even its free subs basically surpass any other colour.
He is pretty good though, his health is crazy.
Considering he is often put on teams purely for his orb though, Blueno and Frankystein do sub just fine. JP uses SW Franky over him where we use him.
