What builds are you running? I bought a 3R and I am kinda regretting it

I'm running 3ac5 and 2 med lasers. One of the ac5 seems to hit dirt often and the med lasers seem barely useful. Every time I try to dps anyone they tear up my gun torso.

I run 2 PPCs, 2MLs and an AC5 and I always lose the cannon first once people get close enough. The lasers feel useless up close too and I get torn to fuck if I facetime anyone long enough, really feels like a bit of a waste of cbills but I hope I'm just bad

I really like the dragon from TT, but the only heavy I've been able to make work for me in MWO is the warhammer.

But dire wolves are good if you can stand still in a firing line while people literally walk in front of your weapons

You want heavy dakka that's reasonably fast, get an Ebon Jaguar. You want a 100-ton Clanmech that actually functions like an assault, wait for the Kodiak. It pretty much shits on everything else in the Clan assault line right now, like the Marauder IIC will stomp all over the rest.

It's got a decently tanky shape, it's not an Omni so it can change engine/endo/ferro as needed, and it at least gets decent hardpoints on the torso gun.

Marauders are pretty hard to kill straight up, the IIC gets that plus Clan XL and the Hero isn't bad at all in terms of hardpoints. The IIC won't be a super great assault, but most Clan assaults are sub-par so even a good/middling one is generally an improvement.
