How come people rarely discuss classic European cars?

I only ever see people talk about modern japanese cars or classic american cars.

I don't get it.

Nobody here owns one, nor knows much about them. And this is a mostly murrcan populated board, so of course classic american cars.

This guy is right.

...

...

...

...

bcause this is weebshit land like every other board

the tipo 33 is gnnnnh

Probably the most beautiful car ever made.

...

...

...

...

Weebs and boomers.

...

...

...

...

Classic European sports cars are too expensive for anyone here to buy.

...

...

...

...

...

...

...

I think this is AR, either way my dump is over

...

...

...

Cause they've all rusted away to shit.

With the exception of the mk1 escort which is perfect in every way

Can't hear you over all this soul and passion.

...

...

...

I'm done.

dope thread op thanks, they're cool cars. I had one for a few years, still miss it. So much fun to drive.

>Nobody here owns one
Not technically a "sports car", but I own a 74 Alfa 2000 Berlina.

The only way Veeky Forums would care about European classics is if they had meme value like the twingo, or they were popular in some shit subculture like BMWs are with stance cunts.
Or because they read about it in a Japanese comic.

Veeky Forums does atleast seem to get pretty wet over 205 gtis and the delta integrale because of group b memery. 80s cars are classics now imo.

Any pics? Hows the rust lol?

I wish I was more knowledgeable on euro classics, esp lil Alfa Romeos.

...

...

OP here, I think I understand now. These are all fucking hideous looking.

My unclea have an Abarth Monomille that were going to try to restore some time soon.It has a lot of aluminum body panels do rust isn't a big problem on those, but we also have a Fiat 850 to use as a parts car.
The engine is all intact so I don't it would be hard to get running.

One also has a 60 Giulia Spider and the other used to have a Sunbeam Tiger but lost it in Hurricane Katrina.

you have shit taste my man.

U rascal you ; )

> Sunbeam Tiger

hnnnng

> but lost it in Hurricane Katrina.

fuggg

It's so sad. He's a mechanic for a (rich) family friend who has one. So he gets to drive his and he also has a Lotus Elan and a few Esprit's.

I know it's off topic, but he also has the last remaining series two first generation Mazda Cosmo in the states.

it seems so because most visitors are from the US so amerikan car are a must
japanese cars have a large following because Veeky Forums is well, a chinese cooking board (Im looking at you, tofu)

Americans are retarded and have shitty taste

/thread

GOD DAMN i love little euro 4bangers

What are you talking about? I own one.

guess this is as good a place as any to ask:
In the market for my first car, want something reliable with good gas milage if possible, and something I can learn to wrench on a bit. Was looking at the twingo cause they're a dime a dozen here, but since this thread is about old euro cars anyhow, would any of these make a good starter car?

I will dump some

...

...

...

...

I guess because they are expensive and are either rusted to shit, or in some collectors barn somewhere.

...

...

...

...

...

I find most "classic" European cars lack in the stlye department and almost all are vastly under powered. Same goes for the Asians.
Americans just have a richer car history period.
Power is what makes cars fun, and America perfected that.

are you calling this lacking in style?

>only attainable for 0.1% of people

how about his then?

>tiny underpowered shitboxes

Pretty much, yes.
You've likely been groomed to like it thereby losing the ability to judge for yourself for fear of going against the grain. but it looks pretty bad.
I'm far from a stancefag, but there's no excuse for that fitment. the whole bottom half of that car looks like a painted wheelbarrow.

Those look like a prescription car for midgets

7 seats, petrol and electric engine

...

no offense but do you have some eye defect? even the memecar has more style and soul than anything I've seen from overseas.

>muh power
>American classics all weigh 4000 lbs

That won rallies against cars plentitudes more powerful than them.

my fellow basketball American

also power is nothing without control. except if all you need is to go straight or round and round. but here in EU we also like to turn right.
also the 917/30, the AC....also pic

OG rotardmobile

meme extraordinaire: mid-engine, hatch, 4cyl, turbo, Peugeot, 4WD, homologation special, did I say Peugeot and turbo and special?

Don't forget Group B heritage.

my bad I probably forgot to say homologation special. sorry. here's a Renault and let's be friends again.

...

...

...

soooo sexy

how about all that, oleopneumatic suspension, retarded engine location and such a lack of competetiveness that citroen decided to cancel the programme and buy all the homologation cars back to destroy them.

Citroen BX 4TC,I think they're the shit.

...

I've owned one of these for the last 9 years. Everytime I think of selling it, I take for a spin and decide to keep it. It rusts like a motherfucker though.

a classic tragedy and not one of Gandini's best works. personally I think they should have stuck to making cars for Idi Amin.
can't you galvanize it? if I could find one of those here I would keep it until it kills itself rather than sell it.

...

Apparently the only way to galvanize it properly is to dip the whole shell into the fluid, and since that means pulling the whole car apart and back together again, I prefer dealing with the occasional rust patch once in a while. As long as it doesn't get out of control it's perfectly manageable.

...

holy fuck those are so badass

>I find most "classic" European cars lack in the stlye department
>cars lack in the stlye department
>lack stlye
you didn't see much European cars, right?

You've likely been groomed to like it thereby losing the ability to judge for yourself for fear of going against the grain.
Not really, sure there are some people that just pose as connoisseurs of classic cars (and don't know shit about them) but overall the Euro market is so diverse that there is no one correct answer in the style department
ergo
you don't have to adhere to an one correct line
example
the E-type is not really my thing and no one has been giving me shit about it
to each his own

3x Fiat Dino in this thread
Veeky Forums did not disappoint me today
