Not the user you were responding to but I never take the cannibal perks, the second night person perk (because it gives cancerous "night vision") and I don't take any of the ghoulish perks.
The former and latter perks are more because of an RP stand point, the 2nd perk cuz cancer.
none of the above applies when I'm playing a cannibal ghoul or what have you.

Apparently your chances of catching a disease, one of which could be parasites, increases with chem use and getting hurt byany mutant animal or feral ghoul as well. Power napping can make you sick too.

Game considers it improper sleeping and therefore not healthy. It might help to take medicine that boosts immunity prior to power naps. Hell, I use mods that allow smoking cigarettes and activating pulwoski shelters to save the game. Don't know why Bethesda never considered that.

Most diseases aren't really an issue, I only use antibiotics when I catch the damage disease. Otherwise I wait and spend my 10 caps at a doctor's to cure myself.

I generally keep the RR alive and go MM and headcanon it in as controlled opposition, the other two factions are too big to risk allowing to split from muh commonwealth, so we'll remake them later on in our own name.

I find it hilarious that I get killed in Corvega multiple times because every raider there had fully upgraded guns.

An older mod called Wasteland Ordnance is the sweet spot since it does not outright outclass vanilla guns.
