Toyota stronk

Ayy 2000 tundra here too. 192k miles

So I should be nervous about people towing with this truck? Thanks for letting me know your truck is fucking WEAK. I rotated my tires Saturday too.

No, it's pretty composed under load. It was my dumbass that crossthreaded the lug.

>Cross threading from a hand started bolt
Wow, you fucked up to the 6th degree. I'm not even sure how that's possible.

Seriously OP, I do tires for a living right now. The shop goes through about 60-100 cars a day. The last time a lug got cross threaded on was at least like over 6 months ago. There's no reason for a hand started lug to cross thread. You dun goofed.

I did an 80 mile shake down cruise on the engine I just built today.

Antifreeze out of drivers side exhaust.

Fuck my life.

That bolt has been cracked for a long time. Look at the shear pattern.

Are you sure you didn't just over tighten it and it snapped? Seems more likely.

Because it's not possible. Not that far. He threaded what he thought was threads then hammered on it because he's lazy. That is literally the only option.

tundras have 6 lugs

If you're bad at threads, rotate the bolt/lug/stud backwards until it clicks, and then thread it in by hand. If you still fuck it up this way, you just don't have the hand-eye coordination to work on vehicles, period. Give up and pay to have your shit not break everytime.

...

This is why you should need a licence to work on cars. So many people do shit like this but just leave it and say they'll fix it later

>people on Veeky Forums consider rotating tires to be "diy"
>and they still fuck it up

>Break your entire brake drum put fucking tires onto your car

Just buy a Prius and don't even look under the hood again.

Hey atleast I smell good now.

>automatic
you deserved it

Getrag 6spd's of that year used ATF as lubrication from the factory.

I'm no bmw expert, but 13 years seems a bit long for fluid change interval doesn't it?

It was strange to me that it went a good 4 rotations by hand before it got stuck on the lug. Maybe there was shit in the lug? It's the 5th lug to snap of this fucking thing. 2 tire shops sheared the other 4. Might be a Toyota issue.

**stud to snap off

"Lifetime Fill" aka it's good till your trans blows up. Been on the fence since changing fluid this late can kill the transmission. After driving it with RP Synchromax in it, it's well worth the risk. At 97k miles hope to see 100k more out of this trans.

Likely the studs have been overtorqued in the past and threads misshaped. Taking it off, the lug and nut threads are misshaped to each other so no problem getting the nut off. But when you put the nut back on, you're likely not using the same nut to the same lug, so it jams against the mismatched threads. Not a Toyota issue. Very likely a not using a torque wrench issue.

just do a fluid and filter change, dont have a flush done and your chances of fucking it up are pretty minimal

Changed the rear differential oil in my tracker last weekend. Had to take my time to clean the inside of the plugs out so my breaker bar could get a good grip and put some teflon tape on them to stop the very tiny leak it had. Other than that, it was more of a pain in the ass to drive all the way across town to a place that would take the old gear oil since autozone decided not to tell me they didn't when I bought my oil there.

>Twenty minutes to clean parts and change oil
>Hour and a half driving in awful post church lunch traffic to recycle stuff afterwards.

I have never heard of a hub breaking

I started changing tires at 14 and have never cross threaded any thing. Ten years of working with cars and 0 cross threads

Shortened this axle recently, painting my car as well.
Having fun.

Does this count as diy?

We've all been there

We once took out the engine from an old Beetle buggy to replace the engine mounts with some new ones made from polyurethane, and after removing the engine, checking the clutch, cleaning up a bit and mounting it all back together we realised that we had forgot to put the new engine mounts on, and used the old ones again

Pro tip. RWD cars don't need tire rotation. New tires to the front, old ones to the back. 2 new tires when rears are stuffed.

i-i love your car senpai...

>Changing the battery on my old pickup
>put new battery in, try to connect it
>connectors won't fit onto the battery
>really confused, universal car battery so it should fit
>try for at least 30 minutes, put oil on the connectors, clean them, try to open them more, oil the connectors on the battery, nothing works
>realise that I left the small black plastic caps that are on the connection nubs of the battery, pic related (they were black on my battery)
Man I felt stupid.

thanks broski

>buy bike for 1000€
>replace COMPLETELY fucked camshaft
>replace fucked rockers
>replace camchain
>have valves reworked
>replace gaskets
>add aftermarket oilcooler
>change jets and replace stuff in carb
>do some other small time shit
>travel around with it

works fine now for like, forever.
really a nice bike and experience

oilcooler i added

thats the raped camlobe

i had it sent to germany, they grinded it down and hardened it again. unfortunately camshafts for this bike are barely possible to come by.

thats the damaged rocker

...

just removed the engine and did all that in winter

Well, at least I'm not the only one

Just pour it over your weeds like i do.

Wal-mart recycles oil if there's any around

Any place that does lube or any parts place around here is required to accept motor oil by law. But they can be dicks about every other kind of oil if they feel like it.

you might be on to something there.
Send me your bolt OP!

>reading comprehension

>atf
>smelling good

It literally smells like cat piss

What's the name of that Ford?

Changed brake pads first time. Wasn't too hard.

Those are shoes lol

That's a Festiva.

Did the kit not include new springs?

Did you polish/smoothen the inside of the drum?

Yea they did. Just a before picture used as reference

>brake lines is leaking
>no probs
>got it done within 20 minutes
>trying to get the screw loose to get the air out of the system

>had to replace bearings to replace the covers

350 for all parts
10 for the handbrake kit

today was a good day

i'd flush a tranny if you know what I mean

>never done anything on my car
>need to change front pads/disc
>friend tells me its easy I should do it myself
>not really sure, but figure I'll give it a try, watch loads of how to videos
>fuck up the threads for the bolts that fasten the caliper
>can't find a shop that can make new threads
>have to replace the whole thing, gonna cost $400+ probably

no more wrenching for me

>tfw I share a planet with people like this

How the fuck can people cross thread fuckhueg bolts? Do you put the bolt in a rattle gun and then pull the trigger and jam it in at full speed?
