If you had 6000 dollars RIGHT NOW and needed a daily that could be fun with low-ish maintenance costs, what would you buy?

The cheapest 944 I could find. Very reliable and easy to work on.

I'd rather just upgrade my current car

Probably a 90s or early 00 lexus

...

Let's assume that your car is a recent Honda hybrid with a transmission that has zero aftermarket support and is loosing value every time you drive it

>$6000 USD

Probably this

vancouver.craigslist.ca/van/cto/5623196243.html

Probably a Cobalt SS, TC if I can find a good seller.

CRZ? K series and manual swap

Get a low mileage SC400, preferably a 98+.

>automatic

>6k
Hello Ford Bronco.

and?

>fun
>low maintenance
>$6k

3rd gen MR2. You can find clean models for $5k all day, and it's essentially a backwards Corolla/Celica so it's extremely reliable, great on gas and insurance, and cheap to run.

Not to mention it's 50lbs. lighter than the lightest Miata so it's pretty fun to toss into corners.

idk, probably a new-edge GT mustang. Surprised with how cheap they are getting, and they are pretty decent cars.

If handling is more your thing, probably try to find a boxter or SW20 MR2.

You act like it's Lego

The cheap ones burn oil and have pre cat failures

civic si hatchback

sc400/is300/ls400 are all cool too

$500 and an afternoon bro

Realistically it's more straight forward than an LS engine in a Miata

I drove mine for 7500+ miles before doing this last oil change and I wasn't even down by a full quart, and I run it to the redline at least once a day.

And all you have to do to remedy the precat failure is to gut your precat. I know girls that can do that, if you can't do it then you need to get off Veeky Forums.

ek9 civic with a gsr swap
nb miata
sr20 swaped 240sx
salvage title ap1 s2000
Fourth gen fbody

An '89-'93 Lexus LS400 with high miles but a clean body and interior, and then twin turbos for 400hp.

Max comfy and very fast, all while being very reliable and getting 20mpg.

aw11 or miata

Srt-4

Pic semi related

r32 gtst.

NB Miata by far.

where do you live where those are 6k?

That's half the distance the Boxster it's based off of can go before needing a service

canada

Pretty sure you can get r32 gtrs for that price in aus/nz

fuck this gay earth and US import laws and subsequent price inflation

Cobalt Turbo SS

Fastest car available for 6k, can easily beat many muscle cars worth three times that and shuts up RWD purists right up. Just don't attach an anvil to your keychain.

id rather get a srt-4 if not just for the exhaust note

I'd buy a C10 and put a vortec in it. Fast as shit

mk4 tdi manual.

If you're in the US and want an r32, go through Canada. I've had one for like 8 years and was happy that Ameribros can finally get them, but the prices US importers are charging are full retard. Some cunt in Washington wants 12k for a non turbo sedan.

Even if you're not close to the border, look at Canadian Craigslist for them, they're anywhere from 4-10k for a gtst, and that's Canadian dollars. So like 2500-7500USD. R32's are almost dying out in Canada as well as we can get 34's, s15s and Toyota Chasers and shit these days, so you can find great deals. Shipping in USD will be cheap as well so it's worth a browse at least.

>volvo

Ahh, completely forgot about them.

V70R is the shit. There's a nice one in my area.

Anyone know how decent they are? I hear parts are expensive simply because the "R" trim is on it.

I wouldn't get the automatic, which it probably is.

Angle gear is expensive, 4C struts are expensive if equipped. Not the cheapest to fix, but worth it. If you're a poor college student, shut up and buy a civic for 3-4k

So be it. Something like that you need to buy new I suppose.

I might just punt and buy a Montero or an Xterra. Make life easy.

One of these babes

Or this one

For 6K? Lol yeah ok buddy.

6k maybe for the original wing? He might want to put it on his civic

...

Why? Those get shit mpg.

Two toyota corollas

>6k
>daily
>fun
>low maintenance

Some honorable runner ups in my area
>Mitsubishi Eclipse v6
>88 Supra
>Some CRX, MR2s, other generic 30 yr old nip cars
>Some early 2000 mustangs

My personal pick would probably be a LS400. Maximum comfy, well powered and can get hektik if youre motivated to go that way.

>tfw californian

>falling for the r32 meme just because you live in burger land

Nothing wrong with them, but no reason you should treat it like a god machine.

You can't
