Base cast speed of a magic weapon is applied to the cooldown between an ability and casting shit like entangle or teleblock. Furthermore, there's only 1 ability difference you can cast, bost basic, and the duel wield one is better than the 2h one.

Melee equals up nicely, and can actually be hybrided between 2h and dual wield fairly wel

Ascension crossbow range is 7 vs the Nox Bow range of 9, though, and it has higher autoattacks. The only thing Asc bow have is the ability to shieldswap, (who tanks with asc when seis exists though) and the needle strike extra damage boost for your next attack, but that correlates to an overall very low DPS increase. Nox bow is honestly just the nicer weapon to use most of the time.

dual wield melee is hardly better for single target combat
the best dual wield threshold is assault which is a generic shared ability, and decimate is only better than cleave if they have a shield
