Vigilance is a T3 skill. If you take it, it would delay your T5 skill quite a lot.
You don't take AFT for the secondaries. You take it for the increased AA range, with secondaries being a nice extra benefit. So take AFT.
Torpedoes are easy to evade even before they're spotted. If by all means you feel like vigilance is a must, take it after you get your T5 skill.

Anyone else surprised about how the german BB's turned out to be great? I mean, at least from T3 to T8, they're confirmed to be from solid to great performers, and even incredibly fun at that. For once, WG didn't disappoint.

No. All the shit flinging was over the T9 and 10 being shit, and no sane person has gotten to them yet to find out. The rest of the line didnt receive near the scrutiny the top tiers did, which is strange because top tiers are shit regardless.

Honestly I'm not, I've expected them to kick ass ever since I first played the Tirpitz, it's the penultimate BB line quite frankly. They play the way BBs were meant to be played. Nassau is the best T3 BB, Scharn is fantastic fun, and Bismarck might just be THE BEST BB in the game, can't wait to try out the Bayern and Gne, and from what I've seen H39 kicks ass at T9, on par at least with Iowa, and the H41 can easily hold its own against Yamato at tier 10.

The line is everything I wanted it to be.
