If you like Halo 5 that's fine because it's an alright game, but it's a terrible Halo game, and if you prefer it over any actual halo game, maybe you aren't a big fan of Halo, and that's okay.
It went the way of modern COD: dodging mechanics, sprinting, ground pound moves, a terrible clusterfuck of a campaign that leaves you with a feeling of disgust, aim down the sights, completely fucked world and lore and characters and writing, boring realistic sound effects, shitty weavy-ass looking armor designs, barely any customization, et cetera
It controls alright and the forge is good. That's it. I'm glad that some people are able to find enjoyment in it, but this series has strayed so far from what I have always understood Halo to be at it's core that it simply isn't for me anymore, which is why it burns my fucking britches that the MCC got fucked so bad and no ones plays it anymore.

it's certainly better than 4, but even with Reach's faults, I still think it's better. At least it actually looks and sounds like Halo. At least the armor and alien designs look amazing, and there's tons of customization. At least there was some great maps. At least Invasion was cool. At least the story and world seemed like Halo and not Sci Fi: Staring Haloman.

Anyway I think without AAs, bloom, no bleedthrough, the weapon balanace, etc. the average Halo 5 game plays much better and more fun than the average Reach map.
I only ever played Reach for the customs, anyway. And I don't think there's been a half-decent Campaign story since Halo 2.

Nah, 343's at least allow for expression and a modicum of intelligence. Reach was straight up "let's make this look as feral as possible", it had the weird proportion thing going on between upper and lower body, kept Halo 3's weird rabbit-feet... just all around a weird and out of place design.
