Miata or civic

Hey Veeky Forumstards
I'm being deployed soon (military) and I will come back with around 10-11k

I can't decide whether I should call it a day and buy a civic or try to find a decent miata.

I'm stationed in SoCal so I don't know how much registering cars and shit works out here.

I've searched for miatas and the cheapest I have found was 7k (for something that looks like its not going to die).

I've also looked for civics and I have found good ones as low at 5k.

All I really want is a car that is fun to drive yet cheap. Also, I dont want to uave to give my left nut to pay for repairs if shit goes wrong.

Thanks for contributing to the post nigger

Considering you're able to make some money with very little living expenses, why not start saving for a house or something?

>In SoCal
>free weekends
>can't get anywhere without paying 20 dollars for an über each way
>have to rely off truckfag friend to bring me places
No thanks

What good is a house if you can't drive to it?

Delayed gratification over immediate pleasures, sir.

Not having a car is literally ass cancer here.
I scuba dive a lot and getting to the locations via Uber costs 50 dollars round trip just for a one day outting. Even to get out to the city, just to walk around (San Diego) it would cost 10 dollars one way. I'm gonna be here for years. I cant enjoy it if I dont have a vehicle...

Just ignore that autistic retard. Miata if you want an actual fun car, Civic if you shitpost and benchrace constantly or need the space.

Thank you.

I will see whats available on my way back home.

Are Miatas typically expensive to repair?

They're only expensive if they're old ass NAs

Try finding a late model NB

Civic Si

fucking miata duh, who the fuck would pick a fwd over a rwd

They're pretty inexpensive and also generally considered the most reliable sports car period.
Also what said, the NB, especially late models are a DIRECT upgrade to the NA in addition to less being beat to shit.

Jeez where in SoCal are you? I bought my Miata for $2k and it works just fine.. You could buy an NC with 60k miles on it for $10k.

Civic if you want a Mexican to steal it and chop it up

Miata if you want to have fun going really slow

Buy a E36 M3/E46 330i

Why does this sound like somebody setting themselves up to false flag/samefag just to cry about RWD
NC a shit and OP don't spend less than 5k on an NB if you actually want one that isn't a pile of shit.

People who aren't insecure as fuck from spending too much time following memes on Veeky Forums

If you cant get a NA Miata for 2k or under dont bother, NV is maybe 4k.

theyre really shit for what people want for them these days

Pendleton senpai? What branch?

I own manuals, automatics, FWD, RWD.
This is unbiased.
I love my FWD cars but they aren't as fun as my RWD cars, idgaf what you say.

Same, I've owned both. Here's a list ranking them in terms of sheer fun.
brz > civic si > miata > g35 coupe > camry

Im In San Diego. I mainly looked on CarGurus and shit like thatm havent checked Craigslist that much because I'm worried that I will get scammed or some gay shit.

Coronado. Navy.

The Civic Si is more fun than a miata? How so?

The k20 engine is ridiculously amusing. You can rev it out to 8,000rpm all day long and it will take it no problem.
Plus the aftermarket support is great. There are so many different manufacturers for basically every performance/cosmetic part you could imagine.
With struts/springs and sways the Si feels like a go kart.

Don't get me wrong the Miata is really fun as well. I just have more of a bond with my Si.

Any particular year?

Whatever year has a K20

2006-2011

I'm sure earlier years would be fun too though.

Found this. Has lots of miles though..

Holy shit learn how to shrink URLs

why

NB have no popups and are heavier

they're only heavier because they're not made of paper fucking mache
Your NA will probably be just as heavy if you do all the chassis stiffening work, and if you don't then your car is floppy as fuck and out matched by an NB anyway

NA's chassis is made out of wet noodles

Get the civic
