Very rare in the American northeast, but very robust motors with cheap parts and simple modification, fairly active community and if you throw a few grand at it you can get ~280hp and have a total RWD turbo sleeper, diff + trans may need to be replaced, but BW T56 trans are often used in swaps with this model.

Not as far as I know. They're based on the 626/323 respectively, so certain replacement parts for those will fit (and the other way around). Reliability should be pretty much the same for this reason as well.

They're not very fast, but they're pretty nice to drive nonetheless and the V6 is a lot of fun. Rev-happy as hell and sounds great.

Sadly, pre-facelift K convertibles were not made with 5 speeds and only flip-up headlight models have turbo 4s and only 89s have the best turbo. There's some Eur/o/ Ameriboo that has a coupe example. Daytonas are much easier to find with this configuration and judging from Veeky Forums's attitude their styling is starting to come back around.

The lightest would be the Omni/Horizon or the Shadow/Sundance.

You can find that engine in the Lebaron and the Daytona too but the Spirit is the lightest of the 3. Omni isn't even a K car though GLHs are neat in their own right.

The LeBaron never came with the Turbo 3 engine. The Daytona did, but not one of those 3 is the lightest of the K-cars.
