No harder than any other bike, i do a full service every 3000-5000km instead of every 10,000 because the oil gets fucking dirty in that time

My first and allegedly only valve adjustment is at 36,000 miles. I have the shop manual and there is no fucking way I'm doing it myself. This is where I will gladly hand over large money for a certified tech to do it. One of the few things I will pay someone else to do.

to do the air filter i have to take the fuel tank off, to change the oil/oil filter i have to take the muffler off then the headers off, takes about an hour maybe 2 from start to finish for a service.
if you have to work on the engine though that is a huge job, id estimate it takes about 6 hours just to get the damned thing out of the frame.

its not too hard. i do it on thumpers and its easy

It requires, on the BMW k1600, several expensive specialized tools. Plus honestly, if it indeed only needs to be once, there's a shit load of disassembly to get to them that I'd rather not deal with. And I'm not a fan of our nearest BMW Motorrad dealer. I might take it up to Omaha rather than KC.

worse things have happened, i own a ktm among other things so i regularly have to pull bikes down like pic related to work on them, at least bikes are easier/cleaner to work on than cars, i fucking hate working on cars.

Well it doesn't help that it has a massive inline 6 wedged in there along with everything else. Plus you need shims, and I don't want to buy every combination of shims for all valves on all cylinders IF I even need to adjust them. And driving back and forth to Kansas City for shims and parts is too much of a pain in the ass.

A Porsche 996 Carrera has 600lbs of lift at 150mph. If average street cars made downforce the steering would be heavier at higher speeds not lighter.
