Dominions is a fantasy turn-based war game created by two dudes. One of them is a teacher.

The game combines a simple presentation with an extremely wide array of strategic options, including over 2800 units, 800 spells and 300 magic items. Turns are resolved simultaneously, with players planning battles rather than directly controlling them.

It has simplistic graphics but is easily moddable and extremely deep.

Basically, it's an autist’s wet dream of a war game.

i try to aim to start the construction before turn 10.

Typically, you want forts to begin constructing as early as it doesn't hamper your expansion, and that depends entirely on the faction's expansion potential, fort era (palisades can be constructed much more readily than fortresses never mind larger forts) and to some degree starting location. It's possible for some nations to have not just one but several forts ready by the end of the first year, while for others having a fort started at that point is good timing. Gold events will obviously change things further.

I try to find a good place, and save money for an investment on the turn that fits the most, all before the end of summer or autumn if it's LA and all the forts cost an arm and a leg and 1000 gold.

Apart from the fact that Shark Tribe are maniacs who often hit above their weight class, you should work on your positioning so you reach the enemy on your own turn. Getting the first hit in makes a huge difference vs indies.

They're decent troops for their price, and they're a lot faster to summon than other demons.

If either number of blood slaves or time is an issue, they could be worth it. Otherwise go for other types of demon, they're far stronger.

Try going to the game page on Llamaserver and requesting a turn resend. Sometimes things get unstuck somewhere in the process of getting the turn into the mailserver and sent.

If that doesn't fix it, I dunno.

How do you figure out how your position should be? I can check out how much they move and how much I move, but who moves first? How much distance is between the two front rows? Etc.

Indies and PD always start around the center as far as I know.

This is what happens when you turn story events on.

Enjoy your war in hell for 50 turns, random demon lords, ermorian cultists, and 200 barbarians attacking the same province over and over.

It's an event. The battle happened after all regular battles. (Order is magic rit battles > battles > event battles)

Also, meanads don't have stealth :)

Yeah those are the real deal, the titans themselves aren't too bad. I assume the spawning is completely random and you won't be making any friends casting it.

They can spawn in your provinces, just not on your capital. In a singleplayer game I run one landed on Man's capital i conquered.
I think they have a preference for thrones/capitals in general.

The fear and true ethereal are probably the most annoying things about it.

True ethereal doesn't care about magic weapons.
There are ways to deal with it, but it can screw up unprepared armies.

You got no forests anywhere in the area, ragha can counterraid with much stronger flyers and your troops will mass desert without gold anyway.
At worst raiding this early into the game is a loss of a few provinces worth of income in exchange for capital and the dominance of a very good plane.

Nobody's saying that those things are unkillable, they're just REALLY annoying to deal with. It will drain life from your troops while casting evos and teleporting around.

New version of summod is out with mostly bug fixes.

Illwinter's last patch did some stuff with events, and a few of the more complicated new mechanics used event modding to make stuff happen. It also makes Thed less strong (earlier versions of summod overbuffed them)

I mean you're Lemuria again, I'm 100% fine wrecking the blood plane so it's actually a game...

Mindless only if they're unlucky, otherwise they are continuing their mystical journey of the soul, ascending to a different, possibly higher form, in the best case scenario unlocking further the secrets of the arcane. In these new forms they have no more use for gold or other petty material things.
