To my understanding it is because O'Dimm is superbly powerful and takes no joy in having to resort to force to get what he wants. O'Dimm is eager to explore and expose true human nature and outfit men on a grandiouse scale. They never show either the wild hunt in wraith form or the Naglfar flying despite everything in the previous games and books.

What if I like watching how low a person can go, it's not about breaking Triss, it's about enjoying her breakdown.

Is the Temerian armor set good? Pretty expensive though. I'm on DM in Velen right now. Fixing to hit lvl 6 and I'm getting tired of wearing these onion armors that make Geralt look like he has a beer gut.

yes. temerian in white orchard, nilfgaardian in Velen, Skellige's armour and horse set by Kaer Trodle are best for low-levels and early game phase.
