Previous thread: Welcome to the merged general of Elite: Dangerous and Star Citizen. __________________________________ >Elite: Dangerous information: pastebin.com/ZT9GWmaC
If it doesn't have a general, post it here; just don't get upset about sharing. If it DOES have a general, please go. We don't need your baggage. Above is a pastebin of games you can play while waiting for SC and E:D to become playable.
Out here, in the ass end of literally nowhere, is the last place you expected to be. You were given these coordinates by a shady guy in an even shadier place. As you slowly approach, skimming the top of the asteroid field, you finally see it. A few lights here, a shimmer there. Once in range, the abnormal object comes into view. What looks to be 3 Caterpillars all docked together, with a dozen or more ships floating casually next to it.
It's the most illicit club this side of the 'verse, with a patron set that ranges from young kids looking to dance all the way to hardened smugglers waiting for a job. The UEE doesn't patrol this far out, and the Vanduul have all but ignored it. It's lawless, but as you don your EVA suit to head to the airlock, you note that it's not without order. Patrols of hired thugs sit silently in the dark, and you're sure there are more bouncers inside.
Why did you come all the way out here? You don't remember. It's probably not a good idea, yet here you are. The airlock loudly thumps, hisses, and then coughs. There is pressure again, and you remove your helmet. The inner airlock door opens, and a wave of... excitement... hits you. You enter the dimly lit station.
What songs and music do you expect to be hearing?
Justin Bennett
one last shipment of gold and I'm set for 25 mil brabenbux.
Once I deliver this I'm fucking off and buying a DBE and embarking on a great trip to the galactic rim
i need to slap my name on some stars
Thomas Jenkins
>Explorer
Dominic Clark
>he spend $125 he couldn't afford on a game he didn't research
Indeed.
Colton Wilson
Wait, is that really an image of it? >one fucking month away Fuck. Me.
Josiah Cruz
>did no research into SC >spends $125 dollars just like that

Jace Bailey
WHY IS GOOGLE NOT SHOWING ME A FORUM POST FOR THIS
Isaac Watson
Because I just wrote it, user. I'm going to use my Caterpillar to start a space club
Levi Lewis
Nope, it's an edit.
It's okay user, watch Star Wars: Rebels to pass the time.
Oliver Campbell
Nope. It's bait constantly posted with people like you who fall for it.
Will it have modules that allow this? I don't dislike the idea, but I don't even know if it's possible.
Liam Turner
If you say 'verse in this thread one more time you're gonna get lynched
Levi Morgan
once a CG ends is there a given amount of time I have to go back and complete it or is it forever?
Dominic Mitchell
Yes. They showed in the whitebox video and talked about how there will be a docking module for the Cat, do you could in theory have multiple of them (one in the front of the stack, one in the back) and basically put another cat up against it with a similar setup. In essence daisy chaining Cats together
Eat shit, you can't take the sky from me.
Kayden Morgan
Re do it green-text style ITT and I'll give you a bunch of songs.
Julian Brown
You can also daisy chain Auroras, but the daisy chain cats are a more effective station.
Also consider just straightup getting an Endeavor with the crew module & science to turn it into a bar with onboard drug factory.
Evan Perry
> fly out to asteroid belt > wtf this place is gay it took half my fuel to get here > oh its some shit club, that faggot at the bar told me i should come here > whatever im here > go inside > why the fuck are there so many neckbeards with guns > girls fuckin bad boys everywhere, no one pays attention to a nice guy like me > stand in corner > my feet hurt > what the fuck is this music anyway?
Jayden Howard
Who else excited about the ursa? The dragonfly really stole the show but I want to see more of the Ursa.
Liam Bell
I thought about the Endeavor route, but that shit is fucking expensive, plus the Cat I think is a pretty shady base. Endeavor feels like it would be a casino boat somewhere in Florida, where a string of Cats feels like some rag tag shithole flotilla off in Venezuela somewhere
Alexander Butler
I do. But only because I'm mostly lurking here. I won't be surprised if it's late, but I expect it December.
Andrew Collins
top kek I need this in my life
Forgetting about SC is so hard ;_;
Jacob Morris
"you get 14 days to request a refund once you buy in so you're fine, even if they take over 14 days to get back to you. They'll treat it as if they are responding on day one so you'll be safe. As I'm sure others have told you the fps issues are due to crappy cryengine netcode and it will be replaced in 3.0 so once that's out, wait for a free fly and try it again and see how it runs."
>Who else excited about the ursa? What's there to be excited about? It's not-Mako and I've yet too see any practical usability aside from "you can drive it and shoot... something".
Bentley Phillips
Given CIG's way of releasing shit, it's not even "I won't be surprised if it's late, but..." it's "Ok they said X date. add on a month or 2, and we'll start from there."
Not that I'd want them to rush it, but them reaching the deadline would be a miracle. The same thing happened with every other major content release, and most of the minor releases.
Aiden Campbell
Can carry people, can carry cargo, probably a more stable weapon platform than the dragonfly. What is not to love?
Landon Edwards
>poor tier: 25 to 45 bucks >entry level: 46 to 90 bucks >good: 91 to 145 bucks >I hope you have friends tier: 146 to 300 bucks >absolute madman: above 300 bucks How true is that for stand-alone ships in SC?
do you think there will be pirate bases where you can aggro most of them from the air and just kill them with spaceships? Sounds pretty gay. I hope they just stay inside the airlock and shoot at you with turrets
Brody Bailey
Seems legit as long you remember the $25 one doesn't get you game access
Glaive is so bad that absolute madman isn't going far enough though
Easton Morris
>tfw glaive
I can also fly it pretty decently, I've been pretty easily taking out SH shitters in the PU but that's mostly because a lot of them try to rely too much on the SH rather than their own ability.
Can we turn Warpup into a new meme that we name drop?
Jeremiah Perez
Jizz
Parker Brooks
Yea I just posted it, figured I'd get some more songs for the playlist so I can prune out the shit ones later.
Lucas Foster
Can we not?
Xavier Russell
If we can block the pass, it'll be easy. All that's left are his War Pups, and War Boys too sick to fight.
Colton Wright
are you like, 12?
Jonathan Nelson
Early October, I'd expect. They'll probably push to get it on the test server before Citizencon so they don't have the current unflyable state making them look bad.
Brayden Hughes
>Can carry people, can carry cargo But *why*? What's the point?
>dragonfly At least it can do stuff in space
Elijah Walker
>what is the point of loading a vehicle with a bunch of cargo instead moving them one by one by hand
it is a mystery
Austin Jenkins
Forgot to mention, I don't think I locked my reticule to mouse. If I go to my hangar shit is perfect
Jace Torres
I think what's he's trying to get at: what can it do that makes it viable over a regular ship that carries it, like a Freelancer (probably MAX) or Constellation?
Nicholas Gonzalez
>attacking pirate base on barren planet >sauntering among the craters >get ass fucked by literally anything
gee. I don't know.
Ryan Hughes
>puppy play let me guess he's german too right?
Christopher Murphy
I hope they add some sort of anti-air cannons on the ground...
Otherwise ground vehicles are basically useless. Why would I not just fly in on top of something, land and shit out all my little men? With my shields up, the infantry weapons aren't going to hurt me.
I imagine almost every "Attack this pirate base" mission will end up with people just hovering in the air blasting them with CF-117s or similar
Gavin Lee
The same would be for the Ursa, except it can't fight back as well with a shit turret, has to deal with land, and can't escape at hundreds of m/s.
Jack Gonzalez
Not unless if it's in a cave or some shit, but I highly doubt that'll be common enough. gg Ursa
Leo Fisher
>good: 91 to 145 bucks But avenger is 60 bucks.
Jose Miller
Hopefully the ursa has stronger shields or power plant, but yeah I agree the turret is pretty weak unless it can make up for it in some way.
But I like that the Ursa has more utility in cargo and crew.
Logan Peterson
i hope my Anacondas interior is this level of comfy
Just fly your freelancer over to the base itself and push the cargo out the back? Why would I ever need to take a tiny box out of my ship, put it into the rover, drive it over somewhere basically unprotected and slow.
I get it from a lore/immersion standpoint, but I don't see ground vehicles fitting into this gameplay wise
What's wrong with your website? It doesn't seem to work.
Elijah Ross
Please stop shitting the thread up with your garbage attempts at doxxing.
Brody Taylor
>dog avatar >clear back thrust >catfacts >reddit >lawlcat
wew
But seriously, he seems like he'd fit in nicely with certain folks in /scg/.
Jason Watson
Warpup please, it's alright. Your stuff isn't so bad.
Brayden Garcia
I wonder how ships docking together will affect shields? Will they each retain their own individual shielding... will the side that is docked lose shields? Will they merge to form a larger bubble as a power of both shield generators?
Latter could be fun
Luis Russell
>i've saw one base >all bases will be like this >trust me i am a base expert >this gameplay element they're planning that I know nothing about is useless
Henry Ward
Not him, I just don't want this to devolve into org posting bullshittery, which looks to be exactly where it's headed.
Camden Reyes
Hah, legitimately not me. I don't really know what that guy is trying to do, but I don't really care. I don't post it online if I'm ashamed of someone finding it. The benefits of being an adult and having discipline!
David Moore
>pretend to be le-happy-merchant >actually pirate >offer rare wares and even power down your weapons >finally convince them to board and trade >activate illegal ramming shock shields and disable their ship
Adrian Rodriguez
Try the other way around? To push cargo into your ship from a ground spot you can't land at.
Josiah White
Ah shit you're right. I'm sorry and I'll stop.
Tell me, user, in how many situations do you see the Ursa being more useful than a ship? Name as many as you can.
Jordan Miller
I'm pretty sure they can't 'move' when docked either way
Ian Fisher
In every single oppertunity that you need a highly manuverable vehicle for long distance across the fucking planet surface. You know, every oppertunity a rover is needed? Have you ever watched any element of science fiction before?
Cameron Edwards
Not user but:
>Transporting cargo to and from isloted ground bases to your ship
>Raiding grounded ships with your friends
>wanting a vehicle that won't flip over on every bump like the memefly
>A vehicle you can listen to Sabaton in
>A vehicle for exploration and sample collecting
And seriously, its comfy as fuck.
Kevin Rivera
Every element of science fiction has them land the ships far away so they have to have drama on the rover ride to the destination.
In the real world, given ships like we have in star citizen that can literally fly/land anywhere and hover in mid-air, you would just land right next to the place.
It would be one thing if we HAD to land at designated landing areas, or we HAD to have good huge open fields, but the fact is we can land fucking anywhere and just set it down.
