>be me
>find car
>go see car
>offer x
>guy says no ill take y
>if y was what I wanted to pay anyway I pay it.
>otherwise tell him z is the most I'll pay
>he declines
>he calls the next day and says he take z

Tada

I could use this thread thx senpai

Also actually have the cash ready. Don't be that faggot that says "I'll just go try find the money now". Literally have the cash with you.

>Walk in to dealership
>"Hello i would like to purchase _____ for X"
>sry sir we will only sell it for Y
>Threaten them with violence
>Ask to test drive
>Test drive it through their entrance
>do a 360 and walk away

>have money on you
>Think of your ideal price
>offer $100-$500 below your ideal price, depending on what car and it's current value
>if guy says yes
>congrats you get car for $100-$500 less than what you thought
>if guy says no and counteroffers, it probably will be the price you personally settled on
>congrats, you paid what you wanted to
>if not, say that y amount will be the most you will be willing to pay
>wait
>he calls back saying that he'll take y
>congrats, you got a car for a good price

alternatively, if you are fairly young and the car is more of a commuter/shitbox/econobox tier (although you could get away with sportier cars if it's a popular model among millenials), you could also do this

>have money on you
>settle on your ideal price
>tell the guy some sob story about how you need a car to get back and forth between uni and your apartment, and public transport just won't cut it for you
>tell him how you only have x amount saved up since your rent is so high
>offer for $100-$500 below your ideal price
>if he pities you, most likely will get it right then and there for $100-$500 below your ideal price
>congrats
>if he's not a softie but still feels kinda bad, he might say something near your ideal price
>haggle from there
>congrats
>this method works really well if you know the car has been up for a while

Second method is more guaranteed because everybody knows what it's like to be poor.
First method is if you're old.

>physically point out issues
If you see a dent touch it and say "theres a dent there"
>explain what you need to fix
>list how much it will cost
This will do a lot to lower the price

This is very key.

>test drive and subtly complain about issues
>act disinterested af
>claim it's not really what you want, but you'll pay X amount
>be prepared to walk away from the deal
Also, if they offer you a low price based on financing agree on the price, then say you'll pay cash at the last second during the sit down. They can't change the price at that point.

Having cold hard cash will help a lot getting a deal.
Offer a price, if they don't budge. just walk away and leave your number or something.

they will come crawling back wanting that guaranteed sale.

Haha if people make me up a sob story I tell them to fuck off.

same strategy if trading your old car in.

Every reply here is dirt here's some real secret techniques:

-Send the sell an email asking what their lowest price is

-Agree on a price then show up with half the amount

-Try to trade for junk kicking around your yard, people trying to sell a car will always go for non functioning dirtbikes, gift cards, Xbox 360's, pets and razor scooters

would you take 750 for a car listed for 950 or is that too low?

What if you don't want to go in carrying thousands and thousands cash

>see car online for 5500
>5hrs sway
>text guy, chat about car for a bit, talk about the cars problems a lot.
>Tell him without seeing it, not willing to drive 5 hours for any more than 4700
>he agress to that
>drive up to see it. Had all 4700 in cash but right before I got there friend suggested put 200 in other pocket.
>Talk to him for a bit, drive it around the parking lot, guy is chill and is into cars
>get out, tell him I like it, he asks if I like it enough to buy it.
>pull out envelope with the 4500 "I got 4500 in cash right now man"
>gets quite and tense
>"Yeah, you're a cool guy " we proceed to shake hands, I get the title and keys, he gets the money.

And now I own a manual SC300

>not asking a buch of Veeky Forumstist to lowball him

I have a minimum price I will sell cars for, and list them at very competitive prices already. I don't sell below my minimum no matter the story someone gives me.

Then you are likely gay and should kys.

you overpaid like fuck if its not already na-t

Well not literally, that's how you get robbed. But do have the money ready to go that day.

All these tactics don't work on people who actually know anything or are not selling the car because they have to. I literally ask people as soon as they contact me of they have the amount stated in the add, and if they don't, I tell them they can call me when they do have it in hand and then they can view the car. I would settle for a picture of the cash with time stamp as proof.

how to get robbed by niggs 101

>Be me
> Have about 8k to my name
>Looking to buy a used car
>See a really good deal on car
>Asking price was just reduced
>Tell person I can only be financed for 500 under new price
>Buy 08 535xi for $6k even

I don't live in America, and don't buy cars off abbos.

>now have to replace turbos

I would not bother replying to your email asking for a picture of cash even though I had the cash. That's a major red flag that the seller is a pain in the ass to work with.

>you got the cash man don't waste my time
>its a good car man dont try to lowball me
>nobody drives my car but me

yeah fuck you

>nobody drives my car but me

In fairness I don't let anyone drive a car I am selling unless they have proof of insurance. Had someone crash a car on a test drive years ago when he floored it in first coming out of a junction and put it through a wall.

That could easily have been a fucking nightmare, but thankfully he gave me the full asking price for the car after admitting liability there and then and had his stonemason mate come and fix the wall that day. He was mortified and a decent guy, but had he been a prick that could have been a disaster.

These suggestions are good but yall are missing a key part
>Walk the fuck out if they don't give you a price you want
Seriously don't agree to their price, walk out and wait in your car for maybe a min or two and if he doesnt come out after you than straight up leave. You'll probably be getting a phone call very shortly

>went into a Acura dealer for a used Honda Accord
>Have all the comparable vehicles in the area on my graph paper
>Car is $5k over priced
>Ask him "Who comes into Acura to by a Honda?"
>Ask him "Who wants an Accord loaded to the point it costs like Accura?"
>Point out that the pics of it are from fall and here we are at the beginning of spring
>"What's you actual budget, user?"
>Show him my bottom line
>"You will sign if I get you that deal?"
>Salesman comes back
>$15,003
>I ask him to wait, because I need to consider the $3 over budget.
>JK, but my wife is going to be a little pissed about the $3...
>... and she was

The #1 rule is being able to walk away. Until You sign your final contract, you can walk. Salesmen know that the odds of you coming back are slim, so their assholes pucker when you walk away.

Bring along another person. Car buying can get emotional and lead to rash decisions and regret. Someone who can keep you grounded may save you thousands.

This guy is on something lol

whats wrong? he states what he wants and obviously is not fucking around. If some one wants it, they will come with asking or he will trade plush cash.
