>Trying to find a miata for weekend car in ontario, canada
>Everything available is rusted to shit, modded to shit or has insane boomer markup, or not the color I want (can afford wrapping but would rather paint)
Any canada fags here can relate? Our market is so shit for everything, housing, auto, school, jobs, I'm so worn out and I just want a peppy little weekend car to occasionally track.
Max is 10k, I know for some more I could get an NC but I'd prefer the Na for the "barebones" feel.
Jackson Reed
you agree fwd is inferior?

Guys, I don't really have an opinion on rwd vs fwd I think both have their perks at times, but i'm more looking for people who can relate to how shit canada is, whether it be stories or experiences I just don't want to feel alone
Angel Price
There is a clean one for 6k in NOTL in Niagara Ontario friend pretty clean it's white completely stock and it has a video
Don't spend more than 6.5k maple syrup bucks on an NA, that will get you a clean one with like 50k miles. Watch search tempest many many times a day for at least two months. I got my Montego blue with 70k miles, absolutely no mods, absolutely zero rust (even when on a lift and under carpets) for 4k freedom monies. They're all shit, until you find the one.
Gabriel Phillips
>6k for a 26 year old car what retard would buy that?
Robert Reed
NA actually has shitty driver feel contrary to belief; the NB is a MASSIVE step up in every way from it.
Isaac Young
Maple dollars man, that's only 4600$ real money
Austin Price
>NA actually has shitty driver feel contrary to belief By Miata standards*
Still, unless you're obsessed with popups there's no reason to not get an NB
Carson Ward
What retard spends more than $2000 on a miata
Alexander Bell
damn you can get NCs for £3.5k here which is probably like $50 now
Bentley Martin
Thanks but due to work I get 1 day off a week and have no time to get everything I need done, I can travel to the central GTA area but that is a 3+ hour drive for me
Josiah Torres
People who aren't idiotic poorfags that can't afford a car in good condition?
Owen Jenkins
Well to do something right you should take time off I went from Niagara Falls to north bay Ontario to get a car once
Evan Jones
If you have 10,000.00CAD, export a JDM car of your liking. There's no reason to put up with 280,000km cars here when you can get a 70,000km equivalent for the same money from Japan.
If I had 10,000CAD to spend I would be buying a 1996 JDM SW20 hardtop for myself.
Leo Long
Wouldn't it be RHD?
Henry Thompson
still far too much for a 26 year old car, especially a fucking meme car
Juan Butler
you get fucked hard on insurance with imported cars
Lincoln Ramirez
Yeah, if RHD is a dealbreaker for you then you gotta put up with the high-km LHD cars. I personally have decided to only purchase RHD cars in the future. The selection and cheapness of cars is just too good in Japan.
Isaac Long
the two options when buying a miata
>watch craigslist like a hawk, be ready to jump on a potential deal within hours of its posting and ready to buy within 24 hours
or
>bookmark anything that looks good but it overpriced. wait one month, go see the car and offer a more fair price, wave cash in their face. If they bite great, if they don't move on they will NEVER EVER budge on price

I'm going for an RX-7 GSL-SE, or trying to find any of the Nissan S series. I've given up the ghost on 70s Japanese Nostalgics, since they're marked up like crazy. I'd also do a Celica Supra or a Mark 3, or an old Celica. But those are second to the RX-7 or the S13/15. I don't have a loan or line of credit, and I'm saving right now. But I'm really considering a line of credit just to get a car. It's so tempting, man.
It's mostly the same here in Ontario for me. Everything is rusted, or broken. For RX-7s, rebuilds are gonna happen, or they're flooded. Apparently through six degrees of separation, I know a guy who knows a guy who races RX-7s. So I could ask if he has a spare, working 13B built and dressed to buy, so I can drop it into a good body. That would be the best idea.

>unless you're obsessed with popups
I am...
Michael Moore
You can get an earlier Boxster for that much, they're pretty reliable and have factory rust proofing The Toronto market is also flooded with them and they're mostly driven by old white people so insurance is cheap as well
Nathan Murphy
Didn't know boomers liked Miatas that much
Alexander Campbell
can fucking relate trying to find a decent 240sx in toronto is impossible and I'm about to give up
Evan Howard
Canada is so based though. Our 15 year rule is tolerable, and we have basically no regulations on car mods.
Angel Flores
Mostly true but this doesn't change the fact we have the worst roads and urban planning in the world and excessive insurance rates. Also Ontario is pretty lenient with most "performance-related" modification but there's been a ton of controversy over stancefags and brotruckers from Ontario literally getting deported from Quebec for violating their own car modification laws.
