Got back from the dyno today

Got back from the dyno today
New engine had a few faults and there are definitely things that need to be tweaked
BUT
comparing the old engine to the new engine.... the B16 just kind of keeps going for a while

aw fuck yeah nigga

nice
what car is it in

the WAT CRX

Eggscellent.

A good reason to upgrade IMO

>forged aftermarket rods
how does that even happen

ARP bolt sheared...
Also.... apparently revving the ever-living piss out of an engine isn't.... helpful....

>rod bolt
oh yes

How high was it bro? Did you moneyshift?

Yeah, generally speaking it's good to be nice to your engine.

I am pretty sure I down shifted to around 8500 RPM in a d16
youtube.com/watch?v=Nu6-rbMHWp0

do you plan on turboing it ?

>inb4 the range is only 0-100 (hp and lbs-ft)

NO
LMAO
I would seriously be crying myself to sleep if that were true

What was the actual horsepower peak then?

>tfw I drive fwd
I want to die

>fwd
>90hp
wat stickers check out

do you autocross it too? there's a class (STS?) at my autocross where it's all honda civic hatches and crx. the way the maneuver is ridiculous

248hp

Post the full image then!

Are you saying my car can't do that?

>tfw friends been posting some dude's crx all day while it was at the dyno
>h23/b seriez trans
>talking about how it's going to shit all over the v8s in our local scene
>dyno sheet comes up
>201 fwhp
Lmfao.

>downshifted to around 8500rpm
that engine wouldnt make it past 7200 how did you get 8500?

retard detected

asshurt 90hp fwd detectioned

anyone can autox i'm just wondering if he competes in anything else

No apparently only civics can and anything over 2600 pounds is worthless

your gtr is shit bruh

I don't have one. I drive a FWD car at 2700 pounds

rip 100 lbs too heavy

mechanical overrev most likely. Happens when you do crazy stuff like accidentally shift from second to first instead of second to third

Why are you so mean

my father never said i love you, and I drive to kill the feels

I was regularly going over 8k with the d16a6, when you remove the rev limiters, engines do things they shouldn't.
That doesn't seem right for a 2.3 liter H series
everyone is so worried about a number, It's not the best but it is damn better than what I was winning with.

Should i buy a CRX for $250 and turn it into a shitbox to track

>dyno charts
>no numbers
what's the point

Looks like a downgrade...

The (dark line) has significantly more *usable* power and torque at 4500 RPM. The (light line) is very peaky with all it's gain is between 6500-7500 RPM, which doesn't help much in daily driving.

this is a racekar

Just tell us the number you fag

According to the post it's only got an intake and open longtubes.

Still a 14 second car with that heavy ass engine only making 200 fwhp. I wouldn't have even bothered.

>dumps 7k into an engine
>dynos it
>starts thread
>won't say how much power it makes
Lol

probably around 130whp and 90 lb ft

I used to be a fan of your racing and shit, but today you're just another attention whoring tripfaggot.

I.... are you kidding here? this car is on the track and nothing else
Sorry?
That was the old engine lol

Good luck if it isn't a shell or rusted into infinity. Theyre getting hit the hardest with the FWD rice tax.

At least where I am, you can still get decent ones for a good price. Lots of ricer modfags though.

>That was the old engine lol

I remember you posting a dyno of it and it was more like 100whp

but whatever

I guess this is around 150-160 and 110-120 then

I have never dyno'd one that low
It was 129HP and 127 on the first tune

>honda people spend thousands on an engine swap, dyno tuning, etc.
>make less hp than a smart car
I really don't get it at all.

>smart car
>250hp

doesn't a smart put like 65 WHP out?

there's no fucking way a b16 with an intake and headers makes 200whp lmao try 150.

It makes 170 at the wheels. So about 30hp over stock. I don't know why he won't show the numbers. We can deduce it from your previous d16 whp number.

he was talking about the 2.3 liter h series
basically letting people make their guesses with lots of clues *shrugs* it's less than I wanted but I definitely need to resolve some issues.

Stop being a fag

That's how I felt about my first fast car

>man, this thing is so fast
>dyno it
>258 wheel hp

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

youtu.be/PviZkOjIER8
video of dyno pull posted

>whenvteckicksin.jpg

what numbers did you make? can't see them in the graph

in a 2500 lb car, that would be a wheel power to weight ratio close to a brand new mustang gt

If that was in your crown vic interceptor, I feel bad for you. generally, 258 is low, but power has to be contextualized before saying
>"hurr durr fwd slow!"

My car weighs 3200 so the power/weight isn't there, sadly

>I-I-In a 2500lb car!
258 wheel hp is slow in any fucking car.

Show me a full weight street car with stereo, A/C, full interior, glass, etc. on street tires running 12s with 258 hp. Pro-tip: You can't.

It's what happens with most early 5.0/4.6 mustang guys. They think their exhausts and stuff puts them in a higher bracket and then they go and dyno and want to puke.

...

On a semi-related note to the recent posts, just how retarded would I be to build a track car with a power:weight of 2:1? Completely serious.

I've raced karts and stuff, but even with the best setup and chassis in the world, would 2:1 be too ridiculous and a total waste of time? Has there ever even been a non-strip car with figures like that?

>power:weight of 2:1
like 2200hp in a 1100kg car?
or 5000hp in a 2500lb car?

lmao rekt

Roughly 990hp in a 480kg car. I'm torn between a twin-turbo 2.8 V8, or the NA version which makes ~500hp. Obviously, I don't intend for it to have any reliability at all, and will be serviced between every track outing.

top kek, you just went full retard user. I guess that's what mustang ownership does to you. Better luck next time faggot.

You would be hard pressed to get into the 12's in any street car that isn't a v8. 258hp isn't FAST but it's not slow either.

>mustang ownership
???

It's slow as fuck. A 14 second car is fucking slow.

it's time to stop posting, user.

all of that for a track day car?
why not build something that fits in a racing class?

sure it is, prob 148 to the wheels with 80% of the increase only usable in the last 1k. still prob pretty peppy in that little tin can

to be fair, it is right where I need it for road racing
5500+
I don't think I would really drop out of the VTEC range on track unless I slow for an incident
