How can V8's even compete?

>What is sandbagging

They've had three bop changes to the Ford GT reducing boost and adding weight making it significantly slower than ever before. The Corvette had a .4 restrictor reduction and weight removed making it nearly as fast as it was at Daytona. It finished seconds in front of the Corvette. Sit your dumb fucking ass down and shut the fuck up.

it would be better than christmas as an 11 year old if the ecobeast ends up ecocucking the communist FIA by making "le heritage meme" ferrari and the rest of the euro impoverished gte pro class look like they are running flinstones technology compared to "dumb and slow" 'Mericans kek

I don't think it's sandbagging. They can't afford to do that anymore. The CTMP win was because they lucked out in their pit strategy.

Also,
>FCY finish

>hey guys just ease off in qualifying, we'll beat them during the race when they get all sorts of ballast and we don't

See

>this is a turbocharged car, it's easy to make it seem less powerful than it actually is

They've made massive reductions to it. It finished less than 5 seconds in front of the corvette. You are retarded and have no logical argument.

at least the corvette is all american, and actually on the road

the only thing american about the ford gt is the owner of the team

built and designed by multimatic, a canadian company

>atleast the corvette is all american, and actually on the side of the road
FTFY

>winning in any BOP class
>superior technology
Even the fat Bentleys can do that.

>no argument
Predictable

what the fuck is anyone supposed to say?

the tt v6 is the same engine that's been used in daytona prototypes for years. OH FUCK we're supposed to be surprised that it's reliable and capable of endurance racing

OH FUCK ford designed a carbon fiber car that is beyond the design of anything else on the field and will cost hundreds of thousands of dollars more than anything else in its class

FUCK am i surprised that this car is dominating now that they've worked out all the bugs

but ford still hasn't shipped a single car to a customer, and if you notice they will never classify the car as 'american' because they know it isn't.

shit, at least ferrari/bmw/chevrolet/etc aren't such tryhards just to get a bit of weak PR and they can actually sell the cars that they're racing

>designed by multimatic
Wrong. They're building the car not designing it, dumbass. The Ford GT's design is from Americans.

>and then can actually sell the cars they're racing
So can Ford, what's your point?

They're not even building the car, they're manufacturing the monocoque.

>design is from americans

oh man that's convenient, considering how many prototype cars MM has designed and built that are very similar to the ford gt (they've been the sole design/constructor of the ford daytona prototype since 2002)

yeah, keep drinking that ford kool-aid

Are you fucking retarded? The car was designed by Ford's performance division, multimatic had nothing to do with the design.

>cool aid
Literally every website says the GT was designed by Ford's performance division.

facts>dumbass on the internet

multimaticmotorsports.com/
>Multimatic Engineering has prepared the racing version of Ford’s GT supercar using in-house, global expertise in aerodynamics, simulation, vehicle dynamics and DSSV damping technology, and fabrication in metallic and composite materials.

you might want to tell them that they were only responsible for the monocoque, they might not have been adequately compensated for their time

>As a result, Multimatic Engineering has been tasked with developing and building the new GT since the start

carmagazine.co.uk/car-news/industry-news/ford/just-how-much-of-a-racing-car-is-the-new-ford-gt/

and lets just completely forget that the ford gt is a $480k supercar going against $80-200k sports cars

>building
Yes, exactly. They didn't design the car though. Ford did.

>and lets just completely forget that the ford gt is a $480k supercar going against $80-200k sports cars
What's your point?

>develop

yes exactly

>develop
Aka, build the car from the ground up.

They still didn't design it, moron.

>"le heritage meme" ferrari
>competing with 5yr-old engine concept
>still same or better laptimes in le mans
>new car coming next year
>new ferrari engines winning awards all over the fucking place
>when ferrari homologated the last engine with 1.1 lambda jaws were dropped literally everywhere else

i suggest you prepare your anus, amerifag. it ain't going to last very long.

you're a dense motherfucker

just because you don't believe it doesn't mean it isn't true

please, show me something that says the gt was 100% a ford design

until then
>ford gt is actually a canadian race car with a canadian racing motor and a bunch of foreigners behind the wheel that costs twice as much as anything else on the field

it's like sending an NCAA championship sprinter to the high school opening meet, and then having a champagne shower when the collegiate athlete wins

ferdora gt

>race car version
>prepared
156

>ecocucking
I like it
Technically nothing is purely from a single country anymore. The world is a different place. GM is a world company.

develop == design
i mean, seriously. just stop defending this shit.

>new car coming next year
What?
You're the one who claimed it wasn't an American design. The burden of proof is on you. Are Veeky Forums posters seriously this fucking stupid?
You have no argument, fuck off. It's built in Canada not designed.

>GM is an Italian company belonging to Fiat
ftfy

what does develop mean?

lets look at the definition

>grow or cause to grow and become more mature, advanced, or elaborate.

so they were the reason the gt even exists

ah, sorry. next year = 2018. 2017 is already done and dusted, homologation wise.

what do you even mean by "designed" anymore? if it's developed and built at company X, that means that that company starts with the rules of the class and then develops a car for it. if you mean, like, the way it looks was determined by a guy sitting in front of a computer at Ford, maybe, but the technology of the racecar was developed elsewhere.

>they were the reason the gt exist
No, it was Ford's performance division dumbass. Companies don't just make cars for other companies out of the blue. Ford suggested the idea and designed it and the canadians built it. It was a joint operation.
>what do you mean by designed
Ford designed the car. A Canadian company built it.

>Even the fat Bentleys can do that.
It's so weird seeing them race on the same track with actual performance cars. They're gigantic and look clumsy.
>comparing msrp's
That just means the ferd costs less to make it track worthy. Plus with all this bop shenanigans it's not the detriment you're making it out to be.

The Ford GT's engine isn't Canadian dumbass. It's a modified F-150 engine

Not that fag, do you have a link explaining what they did to modify it?

The GT's engine comes from Dearborn, Ohio. It's sent to Canada to be moderatly modified. It's overall the same engine though.

autoguide.com/auto-news/2015/03/ford-gt-engine-shares-

Thanks

They'll use a restrictor that will affect the peak horsepower of the engine but the turbo engine is always going to have a better powerband than an NA smallblock v8.

Just look at BMW for example when they had the v8 M3. The cheaper twin turbo straight six produce more torque than the v8 and made large power from 2k rpms up to redline. The m3 you had to get up to 5k rpms before you were really getting some good power to the wheels. Now they use the turbo 6 for the m3 now and upped the boost to have the same peak power of the v8.

>moderately modified
>overall the same engine

Oooooh, I'm shaking in my socks and sandles. Kill your self
