I like to think that Mukuro and Monaca didn't have very strong feelings towards Despair in general, but loved and adored Junko so much that they'd follow her off a cliff.

That certainly seems to be the case with Mukuro. She seems more concerned about despair making Junko happy than she is with feeling despair herself.
