What's the best car for running the touge?
What's the best car for running the touge?
any car that runs
Depends on the road quality, layout and whether you're doing time attack or battling.
uphill or downhill?
do you like fwd, rwd or 4wd?
light or heavy?
forced induction or naturally aspirated?
etc.
Assuming this is a tarmac mountain pass with very little road imperfections,
Time attack?
Something light with a lot of down force and suspension dialed in for maximum grip.
Battle?
Middleweight to lightweight, rear wheel drive with a suspension dialed in for very mild underwater or oversteer.
Battle is all about holding your position and not getting passed. Time.attack is just you against the clock. They require two very different styles of driving.
Pic sorta related. I just wanted to post a picture of a car.
I just want the best thing possible for the D.
I need the D.
your mouth and your ass
There's only one correct answer.
Just because it's not the size of a Crown Vic doesn't mean it's not a large grand tourer. 1.80 m wide and upwards of 1500 kg for all the twin turbos.
If OP wants to do nothing other than running the touge his best bet is probably a Locost with a full cage.
>s2000
NOT FWD
FWD IS SHIT
DONT DO FWD
Honda Civic.
[muffled Monte Carlo wins audible in the background]
hi corey
[they slowly grow louder]
Easy answer. Any car purpose built for track racing. I dont think a gt 86 will keep pace with a purpose built factory car.
>purpose built for track racing
I think you mean drag racing, not track racing.
Kid tested, Tsuchiya approved.
>gt86
>cant even gutter drop
Track tested, eurocucks in disbelief.
I love how easy it is to spot people who haven't driven the new Mustang
I hate muscle cars. But the new Mustang is actually really good
Lol wow, it's not even in the gutter but completely over top of it. Neat
...
...
These are pretty fast on what i think is the "American touge" (Waterford Hills) only 1 second slower than a 2008 GTR and faster than a E90 M3.
an atom
because why not?
he never said street legal did he?
id take an evo9
they can turn, this one won
GT350 is more of a trackday car than it is a track car though.
This. A Viper with copious amounts of downfoece should always do the trick.
CHINESE PLATES
dude thats not even japan, i cant read the plate to know what province but nobody can race on a Chinese road look at all the god damn gravel
what is faster the viper or the GT350 on the same track?
they both should have a damn good lap time
Probably something like this. Pic related holds the record for fastest Nurburgring laptime to this day.
manual
NA
not overpowered, because you can end behind the barriers
FWD or RWD, whatever you like
low weight
My pick would be this:

you know what thats a terrible answer to what you quoted
>F20C swapped E36 318is
>Literally spending hundreds of thousands of yen for a custom engine management system, hundreds of hours of labor for wiring/tuning, custom subframe likely, etc
>To replace the most reliable part of a BMW and only get 200-210whp out of it (same as a bone stock US S50/S52 or Modded M52)
>Japs got LHD Euro E36 M3s with 286/321hp stock
why
Regular Mustang < Regular Viper < GT350R < Viper ACR in terms of laptimes if I recall correctly.
Thats why I posted a 350R and not a 350
Shit, looks like I didn't wake up properly today.
you think the ACR is faster than the gt350r?
really?
My bad then. The R beautifully skirts the line between track car and trackday car - while still being a nice Friday car.
The ACR is 20 seconda faster around the Ring, a full second around the Motortrend figure 8, and 4 seconds faster around NCM, not to mention the Viper holds 13 track records.
>hurrr is a 640hp supersports car faster than this sports coupe with an engine swap and coilovers?
because theres more to an engine than its raw horsepower and torque number you fucking shit
who is this krisp tacky obacky?
Miata.
No
Ford Fiesta.
>cheap to run
>easy to repair
>not afraid of a few dings
>insurance?

Nothing can compete on the touge, uphill, downhill, doesn't matter
Evo or Impreza (first gens only), RX7 and Silvia, they're all under 1300kg
