A pushrod v-8 with occasional maintance will last forever. A few turbo engines have been known to last a long time, none of those has been made by Ford.

If you are buying an Ecoboost truck chances are you really don't need a truck.

ive beat on my v8 for almost a year only put 15k km on it but its a HARD bit of milage and the motor already had 200k km on it

they can take the abuse and then some.

350 SBC and other reliable engines will usually outlast the car without needing a major rebuild

i6 i4's and turbos are known to shit themselves well before 150k km or 100k milage and then need a rebuild because they are constantly revvy, overstressed and maintained like shit

Now, if you turbo a V8...

Supercharged v8 moar reliable and takes up less space, doesnt cook the shit out of your engine bay

besides v8's dont really like single tarbos so you have to go twin and yeah.
