probably

There are a couple, anyway. I'm about an hour south.

I'm east half an hour, I was hoping to mess around on some backroads but it's too rainy.

>Western washington
>2016

It's like you don't like cheap living and meth

Lots of fun country roads between Olympia and Centrailia. Too much traffic up north for my liking.

im actually in vancouver

I'm in Seattle

If you want fun country roads head to Bow or Stanwood.
They're up north and have tons of rippable roads.
Camano Island is also awesome and despite the name you just drive over a bridge after going through Stanwood. Lots of twisties and lots of 55mph zones.

I'm in Seattle too, fun shit out here.

kent/covington area sen-pai

I usually drive for fun around auburn black diamond or forest service roads past enumclaw.

Driving down Lake Washington Blvd is pretty cute phaym.

seattle a shit.
rest of the state is pretty based though
>unfortunately close to seattle here

>they haven't been to the washington Veeky Forums meet yet

Moving to Goldbar eventually. Anyone else live in bumfuck nowhere?

>covington
Hey, same. Haven't seen your car though

Meet when?

tacofag here. my rig is in the shop after a gravel truck fucked up my paint/windshield, but i wouldnt mind coming to a meet someday

if anyone else takes a truck to a meet ill take mine for shits and giggles

That one is le kill now. rod bearings migrated into the oil.

rip in peace Turbo Rolla X

metuu

damn that thing's pretty. glad i dont have your mileage though.

Lynnwood checking in

Everett

California fag who may go to school in Seattle. So is the shit ton of rain just exaggeration or should my next car be AWD?

Its always wet, but AWD not required in the city and surrounding suburbia.

AWD is not required at all. you will be fine with any drivetrain as long as you aren't a retard

it's overcast and gray more than actually rainy, but we do get our fair share.

just have a decent understanding of physics, and know that seattle is top 10 in worst drivers in the country, and you ought to be ok.

AWD aint a bad idea though, it'll help with the occasional snow we get.

I haven't found the drivers to be that bad, a bit on the slow side, and way to many of them, but not terribly stupid.

My crown vic can struggle when really slick on a steep hill. I have an open differential. I would at least recommend a limited slip or a car with good traction control. Hills in Seattle can be steep.

ah, well i drive for a living. and being originally from Socal myself, i can tell you this state houses some of the worst drivers i've ever seen. the statistics back that up too.

i see people slam on the brakes for green lights about once every other week, nobody understands traffic circles, merging onto the freeway is some kind of rocket science for most people, and i'm convinced most people dont have any idea what their side view mirrors are for

Snohomish county. I've got a aqua blue 1967 Mustang coupe. Pic is not my car, but very similar.

Washington born and raised, confirming. majority of our drivers are fucking retarded

Have to be careful of the Canadian drivers. Once was behind a Canadian driving 45mph on the highway. They coasted to 35 then I finally passed them. It was an asian woman on her phone.

yeah, there are two types of canadian drivers, those who drive like a bat out of hell, and those who drive at half the speed limit and fail to notice any instructional road signs

Are summer tires a no then for the area?

Seattle too.

Usually blast around the dead end roads past Index. Then eat at the best diner in the state.

>stuck trying to get into the express lanes in downtown seattle
>manual transmission
>everyone sits literally 3 inches off you

As others said it doesn't rain as much as it is portrayed. I don't have a problem in the vic, just have to be easy on the throttle. I'm using eco touring tires that are supposed to last 70k+ miles so they aren't that sticky. I'd say summer tires are fine.

As someone who stuck pilot supersports on his Miata, trust me. Fuck damp, cold seattle roads.

pretty much. just stick with all season tires. summer/spring tends to be nice, but there's still a fair bit or rain spacing it out.

you'll survive on summer tires, but they arent your best bet

Reminder, NEVER USE LANG TOWING

Utter fucking criminals.

Stole everything out of my car and tried to charge me 1500 bucks for a two mile tow and a 3 day stay while I was in the hospital.

90% sure they pay the cops near them to call them for tows.

good to know user, thanks. just looked up their reviews, they backup what you said.

my shitty work van breaks down about 3 times per year, so i deal with tow companies once in a while

Just keep your summer tires handy

Awd is important if you like spending time innamountains otherwise it's not a big deal, as for rain we get less than a lot of coastal areas but it just comes across more days as light drizzle. If you get East of the Cascades the rain is much less and summers much warmer too.

Ironic some of the worst drivers I encounter are ones with cali plates out here. The further you get from Seattle the better he drivers get.

Danke, and yeah the mpgs are dismal on a good day 6.4 is the worst to date.

Ferd treefiddy bros

Cali has it's fair share of shitty drivers, and down there the name of the game is being aggressive when you need to merge. but overall, i'd say they drive better down there. it also helps that the roads are laid out a bit more logically.
seattle has some really stupid offramps and choke points, and the same is true for some of the growing farm towns. they just kinda slap a band aid on the old roads and try to make them support shit loads of new residents.

dont get me wrong though, highway 410 is a blast to drive, as is 7. and there are tons of cool little mountain loop roads to explore that make up for the amount of idiots in the city

It is hell driving in bc, I'm afraid that driving here has fucked me up for life, the drivers in Washington are pros in comparison to the down syndrome drivers here

>Many people here in the seattle area?
Here in Bellevue. What happened with the past Washington Meet some time ago? No report appeared.

First Washington Meet Thread:
archive.4plebs.org/o/thread/15057755

Second Washington Meet Thread:
archive.4plebs.org/o/thread/15179241/

I just sold 4 steelies that looked exactly like that yesterday same tread and everything

>Many people here in the seattle area?

It Is time for a WASHINGTON MEET. Across the seasonally open roads of the north? Or the Hurricane Ridge of the Olympic Peninsula?

They're police steelies and police Goodyear RS-A tires. Nothing that special, just kept them when I bought my alloy wheels.

MR2 got a fuel pump issue right in the middle of the mountain. Otherwise went well.

did it turn out to just be a fuel pump issue? i never heard what the fix was

Rip Turborolla X

i've actually never really been out on the peninsula. ive been as far out as port angeles, and ive been down to long beach, but never out to forks or w/e

i'd like to go sometime, but christ thats a lot of extra driving for an everett fag. especially since i already drive 55hrs per week for work

Mr2anon here

I'm getting the mr2 fixed on the 27th, sadly can't do it myself (don't have the space or time). All signs point to fuel pump

Where are you going for work?

Don't forget that there are also two large car museums. Probably most people have not been to either of them.

it's a place near monroe. courier work. i run a set route everyday with a few extras tacked on here and there. pet cremation. we pick up bodies and return ashes.

pay isnt amazing, but its good enough, and the management is awsome most of the time

Bump for more WA bros
And just look at our glorious traffic in fair weather

Oh thought it was just your commute or something. I drive too, I want to go to the peninsula sometime but it is quite a drive.

I know that feel. Used to commute from tacoma to monroe every morning. Never again

I'm up in Lynnwood. If theres a meet planned far enough in advance in the future I'd be down. Getting bodywork done right now though so it's gonna be 2-3 weeks before I see this turd again.

>two large car museums
The LeMay Car Museum in Tacoma is a relatively new and large antique and collectible car museum. It was created in 2012 from a portion of the collection from the wealthy car collector Mr LeMay. At one time, he had the world's largest private collectible car collection.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/America's_Car_Museum

The other and bigger part of LeMay's car collection is at the other LeMay car museum which is run by the family. Info is at:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LeMay_Family_Collection_Foundation

Which collection would a Washington Meet visit? The Tacoma one is probably the first one to visit as it seems to be the most tourist-friendly and thus is the most easy-going first impression of his collection.

Nice mr2 dude

Ive been to both, I'd say the one in Tacoma has a more polished collection. The cars are beautiful and meticulously cared for. And all original.

The other family run one is awesome too because it has a lot of obscure one-off cars that you'd never see anywhere else, pic related. Lots of weird projects.

pic related is one of many warehouses at the family owned museum

It seems others who previously toured washington have described their favorite driving tour "routes" already. For example:

Olympic Peninsula Road Trip:
travel.nationalgeographic.com/travel/road-trips/olympic-peninsula-washington-road-trip/

Five scenic Washington state drives:
exotichikes.com/five-of-the-most-scenic-national-park-drives-washington-state/

The Olympic national park seasonal access road drive is to a remote location. You can see it on a WA state map. Hurricane Ridge in the park is just outside Port Angeles.

>So is the shit ton of rain just exaggeration
There is a "rainy season" from november through mid April. Thus the winter season is basically surrounded by the rainy season. Then the rest of the year are lots of cloudy days, sunny days, and days of occasional rain spaced just far apart enough to bother your freshly waxed car. The sunny days also bother your wax job. Because there are so many TALL and healthy leafy trees, the sap shed by trees can float pretty far in the wind and settle on your car.

Does Seattle have a large number of negros?

You might see this guy at a washington car meet, watch out.

>All signs point to fuel pump

Seattle-area JiffyLube:
Sir, all signs point to you needing an engine flush and transmiission cleaning. If the transmission won't let the engine catch, it won't start properly. We can do the transmission flush and cooling system flush today. And you need a new air filter too. See, this filter is dirty.

Seattle-area Toyota Stealership:
Ohh, your car is out of warranty. It needs an examination first. The basic exam is $120 and the detailed one is $300. Exam shows you need a new engine and new wallet.

Toyota of Puyallup:
An MR2? What's that? Don't you want a Sequoia or Tundra instead?

>sadly can't do it myself (don't have the space or time)
If it was only space, then there are those rentable DIY garage bays with car lifts available in the greater seattle area such as:

Stew's Self Serve Garage:
stewsgarage.com

Self Serve Garage in Kent:
selfservegarage.com

They also have a mechanic for free advice but they don't touch the tools unless you hire them. You can hire a mechanic and make an appointment for the bay as an alternative to going to a shop or dealer. They both welcome friends to come in and help on repairs. The stew's garage has a lot of extras including a wide range of tools that comes with the bay as well as waste and oil/liquids disposal. They also have some specialist tools available for rent if you can't borrow a free specialist tool from a place like autozone (if you buy the part from them).

If the last Washington Meet was in the south end of the seattle area, then why not one in the north end? In August all those seasonal roads in north washington should be open as long as you don't mind foot-deep potholes hitting your alloy rims. Hmmm, foot deep pothole hitting a 16-inch rim would break it. Or the guy at would have his car fall halfway down into the hole. So maybe not until the roads are fixed.

She looks kinda downsy

nice get

Now, now, don't be mean. You're a Washingtonian after all.

Can confirm, Arlington bro here.

>driving out towards Concrete is fun, beautiful views too.

if that's where i think it is, there's almost always a cop chilling either right in that parking lot, or at the gas station right after it.

Lakewood road just between e and west lake Goodwin Rd

GT350 owner up on Queen Anne here.
Feels good man.

>Arlington bro here.

There's a stretch of I-5 somewhere in that region famous for speeding tickets.

Vancouver

Vancouver is so far south! Is there a steady stream of Oregon visitors to Vancouver trying to buy legal marijuana in Washington?

I also live in Longview.

No, weed is legal in oregon and you can buy weed oil there. I don't smoke but to my understanding rec. Weed can't sell edibles or oil in quantity In WA

yep, that's exactly where i thought that was. i always slow down through there. more often than not there's a cop chilling in the lake parking lot.

yeah, try everywhere between exit 208 and 171. the cops in marrysvill/everett have all kinds of undercover cars. ive seen anything from brand new honda minivans to raised tacomas with racing logos on the back window pulling people over

Yeah there's a few areas here like that.

>just took the pic while working

Same, they also like the gravel lot a ways before it at I believe lake ki, also down at the Y intersection where 172nd turns into Lakewood Rd/45rd rd

Do they still mark that stretch with fluorescent orange flags on the speed signs as a warning? I haven't driven that way in a while.

>to my understanding rec. Weed can't sell edibles or oil in quantity In WA
I always see advertisements in those free weekly news tabloids in the seattle area such as "The Stranger" or "Seattle Weekly" of weed shops selling oil and edibles. Checking a back issue now... .

Okay, both tabloids have ads, but The Stranger has by far the most ads. Oil and edibles are sold and even "created" objects such as cannabis "cigarettes" and "cannagars" are sold. I guess that means a cigar shape although not Cheech & Chong sized. Some places as low as $4.20/gram, but most are $5/gram for lowTHC, $6 for medium, $7 for high (above 20%). Bulk prices vary but typically $99 for 28 grams. Also seen in ads are tinctures, topicals, concentrates, drinks, and Shatter. It's surprising to see something like shatter in ads since if the gubmint was going to ban something, it would be shatter since the chance of accidental severe abuse exists there.

The newspaper had a recent article about a 6 yr old girl who had frequent bouts of severe epilepsy unless on drugs which hugely reduced the seizures. But the side effects were severe and some were damaging, so her family moved to washington to be able to treat it with marijuana which also reduced the problem without the severe side effects.

yeah. that whole area is fun to drive, but it seems like there's always some crackhead walking just barely in the road at night, or someone who insists on driving exactly the limit.

fun fact, the stretch of highway 2 between monroe and sultan pretty much never has cops on it. ive been driving that section at least twice a day for 4 years now, and ive seen cops staking it out twice. that said, they like to hang out at the weighstation at sultan, and they can radar pretty far down the road, so slow down before you get into town.

i got my old MDX to peg the speedo through there once

Good to know. I was coming back from Concrete one night with a buddy, just after I got the new motor in my truck, cop came around a bend and nailed me with the needle buried at 85, he got me at 105 in a 55, by some miracle he ended up not ticketing me.

they can be bro tier outside of town, especially if you're dead honest with them.

the only thing i hate about the rural highways out here is the gravel trucks. i'm still waiting on an estimate for pic related. not even 10k miles on the clock yet, and it needs paint work

>estimate for a rock ding
and here i am hammering out dents with a min sledge and a piece of firewood.

if it werent a brand new $47k rig, i might be more apt to fix it myself, but it needs a new windshield anyway, and ive got the money for a professional fix

>here i am hammering out dents with a min sledge and a piece of firewood.

For paintless dent repair, there are various tools sold at Harbor Freight and other places. There's also some instructional videos on youtube about paintless dent repair. I don't mean the suction cup method for pulling out inverted rounded areas, but dents that may have a crease mark in them.

Some dentless tools are not hit by a sand-filled hammer (which HF also sells cheap in various weights) but those heavy-weight tools are stroked or rocked back-and-forth on the back side of the dent.

it was the back corner of the bed, clean lines arent too big a deal to me on this truck either.
granted the big dent popped and smoothed out pretty nice considering the lack of finesse and time i put into it.
>tfw rattlecanning and a few new parts made it look a lot nicer than this

fair enough

honestly, if it wasnt brand new, i'd probly just put some touch up paint on it and call it good.

but i'm super anal about keeping things in new condition as long as possible. still kinda riding the high of buying a brand new vehicle, and the rock damage kinda ruins it. stupid i know,

>still kinda riding the high of buying a brand new vehicle, and the rock damage kinda ruins it. stupid i know,

It's not stupid. It's a great feeling and powerful because you feel it over a long period of time and it becomes a special memory. It's also part of the reason why people buy a new car just to suffer that huge depreciation loss of driving it one foot off the dealer lot.

I have a "new" car. Well, I bought it new and had it a while now and it only has 2400 miles on it. So that is new enough I guess even though it is a 2016 model and those 2017 cars are spooling up for sale.

I damaged my car and it was wholly my fault. While backing out of the garage, I pushed the garage door button to close. The car has that satellite antenna which caught the garage door as it came down and hooked it. Thus the door reverse couldn't pull the door up because the antenna is shaped like an angled shark fin. The lip of the door caught on the angled slope. Thus the roof of my car has a crease from where the force of the car backing up shoved the antenna downwards. So annoying. At least there doesn't seem to be a leak (yet). I sprayed water and didn't feel any come in (yet).

I just have to figure out how to remove the rear and side pillars in order to be able to lower the rear edge of the rear headliner. It seems to use those one-way "pine tree" fasteners, so I hope I don't break any. Then I can worry about pushing the dent back out.

>someone brought there grandpa and kids to an Veeky Forums meet

In the state of washington, if you can prove it was caused by the truck's load, then they pay for it. But generally, dump trucks carrying gravel and dirt aren't required to put a cover over it if they have SIX inches of freeboard above the top level. Of course, they rarely level the load down and I've seen cases where the load had parts that were definitely less than six inches of freeboard (above the top). But six inches below the outside edges of the truck is still too small. The breeze catches it and the occasional turbulence pulls stuff out.

Those damn lobbyists arguing for cost efficiency. I bet they told the state legislators that having to cover the load meant the loss of jobs or some cookie cutter excuse like that. The standard cookie cutter excuse of "It's for the good of the children" doesn't work this time. So it must have been the good old fallback excuse of it reduces costs therefore more people have jobs.

Yeah, body shops and window repair shops have more jobs.

No, thank gawd

the truck looked empty, but every time he hit a bump i could see shit falling out the back. the worst part is i knew something was gonna hit me, so i pulled back like 400 ft.

didnt matter though, still got pegged by an egg sized rock. it hit the windshield after leaving the lovely ding pictured above. i have his plate and his company name, but so far the only phone number that has turned up hasnt gotten me anywhere

Which town? Im in Bremerton.. The spider-hole of Kitsap County.

>Western Washington
>cheap living
Ever heard of ohio? Carolina? Fuck, idaho?
No land is cheap here.
