2017 E-Class from Benz costs $54,000 MSRP

2017 E-Class from Benz costs $54,000 MSRP,
4matic at $56k.

With options that are REQUIRED, it rounds up to around 65k. If you want the maximum premium feel, it costs 76k.

So, Veeky Forums, try to defend it.
>241 hp
>76k
>Benz reliability.

Same price for a maxed out E550 4matic sedan in 2011.

Total ripoff but for all the asian gold-digger wives it is great as they never go above 60mph anyway. Also all their fellow immigrants at the asian food store dont know its got a shit engine so they see her as the supreme lady.

But why would people buy this?

Most of the features are very high end, stuff you wouldn't find on a top trim Chevy, Ford or VW.

Certainly the car is also a statement to others, usually this is the main reason someone buys one.

That engine isnt shitty at all. May be "only" 241 HP but it is turbocharged and delivers 273 ft/lbs. Same torque as most "300 hp" V6 "muscle" cars.

Certainly gonna be faster than 8/10 cars on the road.

But yeah, its a rice persons car. They dont have the same standards as we do. To some this is like a Jetta.

If you have to ask, you'll never understand.

>base price
>options
>required

it looks like they accidentally stuck the E-badge on the C-Class
don't buy this gen no matter the price

Fucking faggots are literally targeting boomers trying to drain every last dollar of my future social security money

>costs 76k.
In 4 years it will be worth $26k.

So you are telling me you can buy a mercedes benz at the dealership at the MSRP? You telling me they are not gonna add in some gimmicks like the illumination Benz logo?

Please... even without those options, it would be a 241 hp, no rear view camera, no panamera roof, no spoiler, shit rims, shit interior, shit stereo, no nav, no heated seats (yup), no heated steering wheel, ETC...

FOR 56k. Think about it.

Pretty much the best interior in the class, and basically better than 95% of all other vehicles.

The amount of research and development that went into the technology in the car alone justifies the price. The fact that it is one of the most reputable staples of the Mercedes lineup since the W124 of the 80s and 90s gives it familiarity and prestige in the market, and also justifies the price.

Pretty much if you are in the market for a luxury sedan with taste, perhaps you are considering a pre-owned S-Class or a new E-Class, or maybe the equivalent Jaguars.

Everything else is pedestrian.

>not mentioning this

>With options that are REQUIRED

>Electronic trunk closer
>HANDS-FREE ACCESS
>Burmester Surround Sound System
>NFC wireless charging
>Active multicontour front seats with massage
>Rapid heating feature for front seats
>Air Balance cabin-air purification system
>Air Balance cabin fragrance system
>Power rear-window sunshade
>Evasive Steering Assist
>Acoustic Comfort Package

>REEEEEEEQUIRED

>Wood trim with green illumination
That's disgusting

I think we all here agrees that it is the best looking vehicle in its class. But it will never be justified with a weakass engine in a heavy ass car.

You sure you don't want ventilated seats?

You can change the colour to anything.

Because most people buying this don't care about going fast. They want a quiet, comfortable car that can fit their family with the latest features. They're also rich enough to justify spending $76k on a family sedan.

rearview cameras are default on the benzies now though

First: Engine output isn't the only thing that is important.
Second: A car made in Germany will cost more than a car made in burgerland because the workers over at a German car maker makes twice as much money as the burgerworker.
They also get health insurance, paid vacation, beafy food at work, paid health treatments such as spa/massage etc yearly, then above all this the parts are taxed triple, the boss pays all those taxes and then the tax on the final car.
A vette is built by fat slaves that have no written future at the company whereas the workers in Germany get a contract that they feel secure with.

TL;DR comparing US car prices to EU prices is something a retard would do that don't know shit about taxes.
