I'd argue the Frost/Pumpkin Moon events are the worst, followed by Moon Lord. Moon Lord was their opportunity to get away with insane shit. And it's sort of just another boss. A brutally difficult boss where you can't fucking see anything because they decided to play with shading effects, but another boss.

And to clarify the Frost/Pumpkin Moon thing, I hate how slapdash they feel. They put in all these new enemies, and it's some point rush bullshit. I came back to the game hyped expecting a leadup to some epic Halloweeny boss, because I fucking love Halloweeny shit. And then that. And it was like... fuck everything.

Med is good for anything that a single player run would need. Hell I would go as far as saying 3 people can easily use a med world assuming someone is willing to fish for their lucky horseshoe and know how to play already. A large world is something you would only use if 4+ players are playing non-stop or there is an online server list thing going on with it. It is just awful otherwise early game.

A small world is is useless unless you just need to hop in for something else quick. Maybe you went full retard and blew up all of your alters or you need more chests and not willing to waste the iron to make them. Early game or endgame a small world is just too small to be used for anything.

It's a pretty recent addition, since 1.3.2 back in July. As long as you've entered a hardmode world at least once before, you'll be given the option during world generation.

I have never played on one, but I think you don't even need to explore a whole small map in order to get every item you want. Most of my medium worlds are unexplored because I got everything I wanted before I explored it all.

Fully exploring a medium map is autistic. I could understand fully exploring a small one since they're tiny as shit, but not a medium map. Bonus point for exploring a medium map in a single day.
