The Medusa Boss fight in Final is pretty easy compared to the one in IV. She doesn't rape your party with Snake Fangs or lightning magic.
Abe's Succubus and Lilim both lust after Hallelujah's D.
Isaac Williams
SMT is for casuals.
Anthony Gray
That's because she's not a gatekeeper like Minotaur was. She's a boss at a point in the game where you've got good demons, good skills and know how shit works.
I've seen people bitching about King Frost and that one deity on a boat where you open the ark but both of them were easy as fuck.
Austin Turner
Pascal the dog is here.
Bentley Price
>People bitching about first person combat because "I wanna see my demons" Does this feel like petty bullshit to anyone else? Sure it's cool the first time you do a big attack, but by the 500th time you won't give a fuck.
I prefer the combat in IV/A the way it is because it keeps battles fast.
Lucas Sanders
Did I travel back in time? It feels like people would have made this post for IV.
Samuel Clark
SMT4 combat is shittily designed but certainly not for THAT reason.
Thomas Thompson
It came up when IV came out, and now with Apocalypse it's coming up again.
Nolan Watson
Maybe they could have made that another DLC.
Tyler Jenkins
That's why the way to go is being a true MT fan.
Bentley Baker
You mean DeSu
Nolan Edwards
First and third person combat in RPGs are both equally fine.
Caleb Gray
Desu
Samuel Sanders
Is DemiKids worth playing?
I tried playing 10 minutes and dialogues are just dumb.
Blake Gonzalez
PERO QUE COSA MAS TREMENDA, CABALLERO
Ryan Ortiz
Anyone else doing a meme build run? Sniper Nanashi is actually fine the high MP consumption is annoying tho
Jason Cooper
pure luck
Landon Thomas
I miss Burroughs.
Adam Cruz
I don't.
Jacob Nelson
Fucking why? She murders the end game tone. Starts out waifu as fuck, though. Too bad she can't into feelings and atmosphere.
AI is autistic.
Samuel Richardson
what? there is no burroughs i apocalypse?
FUCKING CANCELLED
James Campbell
How's ~FULL MAGIC~ for Final cuntboy?
Jordan Bennett
The Little Girl appears, but no Burroughs.
Josiah Harris
Post SMT final builds >str/dex/lu >mag/agi
Isaiah Sullivan
It's bullshit and I will never understand how this series of all things attracted grafixfags.
Jose Lee
>end game tone What end game tone? There's no tone there to begin with.
Jonathan Carter
Burroughs and "Let's hope we both see each other ALIVE again" are the only things I'm going to miss from the shitfest that was SMT4.
Nathaniel Roberts
Gibberish/FULL MAG/Gibberish
Ian Martin
2 dex 1 agi 2 luk
Tyler Rivera
Nobody who came here played the first two smts.
Ryder Richardson
You're also going to miss the Minotaur, Yuriko/Lilith, and Tayama. New guy who runs the Asura Kai thinks he's hot shot.
Parker Young
Should be 2 agi 1 luck shitter.
Aaron Jackson
Muh crits.
Brandon Sanders
>missing those fags Nope. Lilith has no characterization to speak of and Tayama just reminds me of the awful red pill plot.
Justin Nguyen
Tell that to Yurikofags in the Ring of Gaea who are still loyal to her while the others moved on to become Maitreyafags and get hooked on Bhudda weed.
Cooper Ortiz
3luck/1str/1ag
Leo Morales
Is there any reason not to report the dead bodies you find?
Matthew Fisher
If you don't report the dead bodies, then you don't get AP points.
Levi Sanders
That's what I'm saying. If there's never a reason to not report the bodies then why even give you the option?
Caleb Thompson
>"Let's hope we both see each other ALIVE again I'm fairly bartenders other than in Kinshicho say this. The thing I miss is "Make sure you bring more MACCA next time"
Ryder Lee
Not reporting is edgy as fuck bro.
Joseph Torres
As someone who wants an rpg that isn't pokémon on my 3DS and never hearing of this series before except persona 4, will I enjoy this?
Carter Morales
Does anyone know how to tell your alignment in smt4a yet?
Apocalypse? Maybe. The problem is it's sort of a sequel to the original SMT IV.
Adrian Stewart
hmmm idk what build I want to do but my stats right now with equips are 26 22 21 61 125
level 31
where do I go from here?
Kayden Roberts
The most common (and only partially true) comparison is that it's like "pokemon for adults". For me at least, it fills the same hole that Pokemon did, only it doesn't talk down to me, and it's much cooler seeing monsters based on various mythologies than on sandcastles.
Robert Taylor
Pirate it. It's worth a shot. Decent fun mindless RPG. EO is better, but it's a lot harder and requires some thought in builds.
Gabriel Williams
There's no alignment in SMT4a. You are a neutral drone who must choose between siding with Danu in preserving the universe, or Dagda in destroying the current one and building a new one.
Eli Walker
Made me laugh really hard
Jace Anderson
I-it was just an example I'm talking about SMT4 pirating is hard, and its only 20 bucks on the estore in europe atm
Jack Murphy
So it's a choice like the white ending in 4 and not based on your decisions?
Andrew Bell
Sure, give SMT IV a go. Just be aware it's ridiculously hard at first, so save every few battles for the first hour or so. The difficulty lightens up quickly.
Grayson Sullivan
Go for it. As a major pokémon fan, if you enjoy rpg's and edgy japanese shit mixed with mythology you'll like it.
Ethan Young
aight noice thanks bbys
Lucas Jenkins
Tayama's VA was GOAT
John Martin
I wouldn't say SMT4 is hard. That implies you can get good at it. There is stuff you can screw up and stuff you can get better at, but it is more incredibly swingy. Crits, misses, smirk massive damage bonuses. Almost any enemy set can kill you in one hit and most bosses don't last 3 or 4 turns. Everything dies fast.
Tyler Collins
Oh, and Strength is shit for the main character in SMT IV. If you want a physical build, go Dexterity/Luck/Agility and ignore Strength.
Magic is also good if you want to be a mage.
Lincoln Nguyen
Neutral drone Nanashi can't make any choices. You can't even side with Krishna and the Divine Powers if you wanted. The plot makes sure that you are a good neutral drone.
Cameron Howard
Ok, honest question, how many of you chose "Walk away" whenever Asahi is feeling down.
Brandon Nelson
>Fight the bigass snake >Do fucking no damage, focus on buffing and healing myself >He heals himself for 6000 and runs away >9000 exp for doing fucking nothing Well okay I guess.
Ayden Ward
>hold off on fighting it because I'm just a lil bit more than a level away from king frost >fuse it >disappointment ensues
Man, I wanna kick it's ass.
Kevin Cook
>side with Lucifer >GAME OVER >exit game
My work is done.
Elijah Peterson
Does /smtg/ agree? Apocalypse compared to IV: +Slightly better world map +Affinities +Fiend hunting changes +Smirk rework +Harder modes available from the start +Demon designs +/-Partner system (change to be less random is good but they did other shit and made partners overpowered) +/-Dungeons (YHVH's is actually big but it's designed in an uninteresting way, not a lot of the dungeons are actually all that impressive) -Voice acting -Writing (plot, characters, lack of subtlety, choice contradiction, etc) -Choice matters less
Anything else to add?
Carter Martinez
Voice acting is a + if you're undub or only listen to Dagda in English.
Oliver Ward
>only listen to Dagda in English So it's a -, and Asahi's JP VA isn't good desu.
Dominic Reed
The writing and choices were awful in 4 though.
Charles Murphy
I didn't say anything about IV being good though.
Nathan Morales
Are the harder modes good though? SMT4's hard difficulty was retarded.
Really, I'm looking forward just because I want to see what 4 looks like with less weak mechanics.
James Hernandez
- too much shit is locked behind App Points, of which there's too fucking few
Jack Taylor
-OST
Adam Watson
Not trying to shitpost but do SMT games ever get less "dry".
I tried IV and im trying Apocalypse now but i never get really far because the setup is always 2 hours of portraits talking to you and then when you finally get into the game you navigate menus to switch between hubs and talk to more portraits.
These games don't feel as meaty as Nocturne or a dragons quest, something like that.
Dylan Lewis
SMT isn't really about plot or presentation. They are some of Atlus's weakest work in both those regards.
Adrian Cox
Buy the DLC, goyim.
Evan Sullivan
I dont have a problem with writing but otherwise yes.
Cameron Morgan
You're supposed to buy the DLC to fix that. Just $2.50!
Jason Wood
is there a way to get USA dlc onto a japanese 3ds
or japanese dlc to work with a USA copy
Alexander Scott
Did Krishna ever do anything to deserve a choice? At least Dagda revives you.
Joshua Sanders
>There are people posting RIGHT NOW that think Dagda's English voice isn't godlike
Explain yourself
Evan Lopez
Sun Moon are supposed be improving on that mow.
He's not wrong from the porn I've seen
Caleb Thompson
his voice is good. I also think asahis english voice is cute
Leo Sanders
I think i just have to accept these games arent for me even though i always love the concept and the visual design.
I just cant sit down and watch static images talking at me for ages. It's like a visual novel.
Oh well.
Alexander Diaz
He's good, but Navarre's and Nozomi's VAs are worse and bring the whole thing down. Flynn also should have never been allowed to say anything beyond "Burroughs" and a few grunts.
Nathaniel Barnes
How is he supposed to be the Messiah if he's an autist that can't talk?
Cooper Young
I'd play a SMT VN where demons murder you all the time and there are multiple ends but no girl wants your dick.
Michael Foster
How am I supposed to keep pretending he was my self-insert if he's not autistic?
Christian Davis
It's called real life. You're already playing, you just haven't reached your own Bad End yet.
Christopher Bell
This is real, right?
Hudson Lopez
Don't download it it's the demon summoning program
Chase Torres
...
Oliver Reyes
DON'T DOWNLOAD THIS IT'S MUSTARD GAS
Noah Scott
Do I really need to look this stupid to get some stats? Urgh, I want my sailor costume back.
Also where is my waifu hallelujah I'm already at Ginza I need him to make this game worth it
Levi Morgan
I don't know that SMT's for adults. More for teenagers, but you get the idea.
Easton Cruz
Neutral Drone Nanashi was the one who revived Krishna in the first place, even when Sukuna Hikona warns him of what might happen. Plus, Krishna is less of a villain and more of a pawn in Dagda's plans.
saw some nigga saying that the demon on the boat was easy. Hell no. I'm playing that shit on war and now I've got to distribute some zio skills to kill that fucker. First shot and It took him a little while to get me down but that shit got me angry regardless of that fact.
Jose Barnes
Just don't use it dumbass keep leveling up normally
