I am about to buy a KLR650 with grandious dreams of touring around. I already own other bikes and have access to even other bikes (family).

I am not opposed to financing as I was not ready to buy a bike and don't want to wait to liquidate some other assets.

Interest rates are similar to cars, except you can put a lot more of the principle on a down payment.

are you just touring or adventuring too?
as a klr650 owner you will run into a few issues
it tops out about 95-100 so youll be stuck in the slow lane screaming the engine a lot. but while adventuring youll love it. personally id rather have a v-strom or gs800 for touring with light adventure but if you want a more capable offroad bike a klr650 will be fine.
here are the mods you need to do

I live in the PNW. I have Jeep trails right outside my doorway. I want an all day bike I can take camping. Do trips from Washington to Baja as well as Alaska. Basically a do it all adventure bike, with emphasis on the ability to go offroad.
