I seriously have no fucking idea what this is. Only happens when taking off really quickly from a stop.

Could be... Suspension part not properly bolted down to something anymore, and the sudden change from stopped to accelerating quickly causes the old, worn part to creak while it flexes, and then thunk back into into place? Just spitballing, but that's one place to look.

Yeah, was thinking that myself. Or maybe something like a worn driveshaft. A real mystery.

It's night time. Your car is parked outside. At 2AM you hear that noise.

"Oh, that's normal noise"

Go back to sleep.

>let off brake from dead stop
>EERRRREERRRNH
>happens no other time, not during braking or changing from D to N,P or 2/1
Dealership has assured me nothing is wrong with the transmission. 2011 VW Golf.
inb4 lolVW, it was a college gift from my father.

>>EERRRREERRRNH
What even is that sound?

If it's not the transmission, it could be anything else that stops entirely when the car is stopped. So not the engine. Maybe the diff, but i think VW has it part of the tranny so no, what about axle?

i can't figure what the heck that sound is supposed to be

but all the cars with autos i've driven do some sort of creaking sound when letting go of the brake from a stop. i think it's normal as they all had gearboxes in perfect working order, probably just the sound of the brakes letting it go from their stuck position as the engine pushes

Trucks rear end hums b/w 35-60mph

Something squeaks after hard acceleration when the RPMs drop

brakes you dolts
